Owls v Wolves match thread

Useless Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Jose "chase me, chase me" Semedo returns from a one-game ban, while on-loan Lewis" big boy" McGugan has overcome a head injury to play.
Striker Caolan "pint of pernod for me" Lavery (knee) is pushing for his first start of the season.
Wolves defender Matt"Mad Dog" Doherty starts a three-game ban after failing to get last week's red card against Bournemouth overturned on appeal.
But forward Rajiv van La Parra is available after successfully challenging his own red card appeal.
About to be sacked Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett told BBC WM:
"Individually, we thought we had a case with both red cards, but I didn't think we'd get two red cards overturned by the FA panel.
"They recognised that Van La Parra's red card was head to head and that he did not lead with his elbow. But there's nothing we can do about it now and it did not get us any points.
"Going forward, we now have to base things on how we played for the first hour last week, which was the best we'd played for some weeks." ( We played in recent weeks ? I hadn't noticed)
Head-to-Head
• The last meeting ended as a goalless draw at Hillsborough in January 2013.
• Wolves are unbeaten in the last eight meetings, winning five of them. Sheffield Wednesday's last win was 3-1 at Molineux in the Championship in March 2006.
• Wolves are unbeaten in the last 15 meetings at Hillsborough in all competitions, winning seven of them. Sheffield Wednesday's last win at home was 2-0 in the old Division One in September 1964.
Sheffield Wednesday
• Wednesday, managed by former Wolves assistant boss Stuart Gray, have won their last two games, after winning none of their previous 11 in all competitions.
• The Owls won their last home game 2-1 against Wigan on 29 November - their first victory in six games at Hillsborough.
Wolves
• Wolves have lost their last five games, having lost only one of their previous 13 games.
• Wolves have lost their last three away games, scoring just one goal and conceding 11.

So basically if we can't get a result here we might as well give up.

Both his winners against Leeds and Sheff Wed were scored with an open goal from 6 yards out. They were put on a plate for him. I give Clarke no credit for his 2 goals in 15 games.

Agreed DJ, he started great with signings but at present the newer members don't look like enhancing the side long term at all.

No idea on Graham, looked good in the first game but not seen the last two and it sounds like 'OK' is how he has been described by most. I feel he should improve though, with games.

Pundit, because as yet we have seen little to suggest Liam is good enough, though i would say he is better in the lone role, but if we were desperate for a goal i would turn to Leon at this stage.

And as for his goals, we have created easy chances for others which have been missed, part of being a striker is reading the game and getting into the right positions, more so than the finish itself.

Danny Graham narrowly missed scoring by a few inches. That would have been 2 in 2 and people wouldn't be questioning him.

I'm excited to see a Graham/Dicko partnership. Dicko can take away Graham's running and Graham can do more of Dicko's physical work.

If we can remain solid over Christmas these two could be our hope of finishing above mid-table.

I agree with that, I think Graham will improve with games and i think Dicko will make a big difference, together they could be a good partnership, time will tell.

Kenny has made a host of poor signings in 2014 and unless Graham improves on the last two games he will become another. He needs to do a lot better in the transfer market in 2015 to keep the support he currently has
...................................

He's got form, he signed Keogh.

Just what the doctor ordered. Now we have the monkey off our back I’m sure we will go into 2015 with the playoffs on our minds rather than another deep midwinter sacking.
