WINNING RACES -- ANY CREDIBILITY

hi guys

just wondering if WINNING RACES actually means very much and in the great scheme of things does it have even the slightest scrap of credibility or in fact is it even worth anything to a driver having it at the end of a race -

I have always thought it was just about the most pointless statistic that any driver can have during the course of a season as very often it depends on tyre wear and how the car responds to a change of rubber and at what stage of the race every driver decides to change tyres and when whatever driver has decided to introduce machinery sympathy into his own individual race and a multitude of other variables -

Case in point would be the fact that six different drivers during 2014 in much , much , much , slower cars than the very dominant mercedes managed to introduce machinery sympathy in a race which very much makes the statistic just about worthless -

qualifying is obviously a very different matter as it is very plain to see who is the quicker team mate in exactly the same machinery and only then do we have a true indication of any drivers true one lap pace when compared to there team mate -
------------------------- any thoughts ?

Well, well, wtcbuwtcc this is something I have considered along with my whims and nuances. Winning races os overrated which is why Keke Rosberg is the best world champion because he won the fewest races in a season$ 1 to be exact.

Senna, Prost, Schumacher and co wish they were as good.

I think the FIA needs to ban world champions who win races as it is pointless

Hamilton joins Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel, who secured the trophy in previous years. Since 2007, the DHL Fastest Lap Award defines a new standard of speed, honouring the driver with the greatest number of fastest race laps during a FIA Formula One World Championship season. Hamilton was the fastest driver on the circuits in Malaysia, the UK, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Japan and Brazil. He was followed in the ranking by his team colleague Nico Rosberg, who set the fastest lap during five Grands Prix of this season. The Mercedes team has every reason to celebrate.
