Schneiderlin

Not an article saying we should sign him. More a possibility that he's engaged in a spot of skullduggery.

He was sent off today which rules him out of his teams game with Arsenal on New Years day. I saw an Arsenal fan joking that he did it on purpose so as not to play against arsenal because be may well sign for them this January.

I just watched the sending off on MOTD and it came from two silly bookings which I must say, look pretty deliberate. I wonder if he did what is assumed and acted very unprofessionally. I guess we'll see if he ends up at arsenal next month. Pretty terrible if true.

I remember Ian Wright saying that players do purposefully pick up suspensions so they miss certain games, usually to have some time off more than anything.

I don't think Schneiderlin would have done it so he wouldn't play against Arsenal though, doesn't really make any sense:

"Hey, I got deliberately sent off because i did't have the character to play against you and it makes me look really, really unprofessional you still want to sign me though right?"

Is he exactly what we need? He's not an enforcer. He isn't physically dominant. He doesn't sit in front of the back 4. Not sure what he would bring to us for the sum of money quoted to sign him.

But Khedira is the right man then?

I never said he was.

Come off it, Arsenal will be going into next season with a midfield axis of Arteta and Flamin

Then again the new manager might actually have some fresh ideas to genuinely compete

I don't remember the first but of course the second was deliberate, it was a professional foul as Chelsea were countering and might have scored. Defensive midfielders have a job to do and sometimes that's what you have to do.

Wouldn't put it past him, especially after his little twitter stunt in the summer.

I'd take him in a heart beat though, such a good little player.

I think the OP was asking whether he set out to get sent off from the start,a premeditated red if you will, not if his second booking was a cynical foul or not, which it was of course.

Still not sure why he did it, he was in his own half and Fabregas wasn't exactly going to run away from him.
