ebola volunteer diagnoses

Just reading about the nurse diagnosed with ebola after returning from working in the affected region in Sierra Leone. All credit to these brave voluteers but I find it incredible that they are allowed to return home immediately to the UK and on commercial flights as soon as their deployment ends. Surely they should be quarantined for a period of time before returning home and even then they should be transported back by military or private transport.

A compelling motive why a pre-emptive 3 week or so quarantine should apply to all. This certainly include health workers, who are moving in and out of the Ebola WA region. They are flying on planes and riding on buses along with the masses.

World politicians should wake up and smell the coffee before things get out of control.

Oh...wait a minute...they don’t have to enforce this, I forgot they are flying in private jets and riding in private limos, never mind, they are not in direct danger

What did it cost when that first volunteer caught ebola? Wasn't he collected and flown back by a specially despatched RAF plane? And then the actual medical costs. Thankfully he recovered fully. And then went back...

Does he get the same treatment next time?

I dont understand why they would fly any infected people back to a clean zone and risk infecting everyone involved in the process. Wouldnt they be better served setting up quarantine and treatment areas in these countrys to treat any infected aid workers.
