Our Academy - Who else is coming through ?

Afternoon

LLM may know more about this than most, but i just wondered what other kids we can look forward to coming through the academy in the next few years.

over the last 3 or 4 years we have had several players graduate from our academy into our first team

Caulker, Carroll, Townsend, Mason, Kane, Bentaleb, Rose (just about counts i think), Livermore. have i missed any?

Further to the above (some of who have now moved on), we also have Velkovic in and around the first team squad, and of course we know all about Alex Pritchard and Ryan Fredericks who are out on loan, the former in particular who i think has a big future.

Apart from these guys, does anyone know about anyone else we should look out for?

Any young keepers coming through?

What about strikers - i know that black striker is highly rated in the academy, i forget his name… Onomah or something? Haven't seen much of him at all… how far away from first team quality is he?

Velkovic is another interesting one, was hoping that would have seen a bit more of him this season, at least in the squad for Capital one cup and Europe, but seems to be a bit of a forgotten man.

Anyway, any contributions welcome.

Evening Chronic hope your well mate?

For the record Marcus Edwards and Musa Yahaya are two names we are not really allowed to mention.

Edwards is too young there is a reason the club limit the exposure on the website because you don't want starlets stolen right before there an official first year academy scholar. Edwards is amazing in that year group as is Jaden Brown and to some extent kaziah sterling who is a massive arsenal fan hopefully that will die down when he gets older and sees sense!

Musa I cant really explain properly he is ours but there is an issue of work permits. Which is why you never see anything of him and no announcement of him.

For me the players to watch out for bare in mind I always mentioned how Harry Kane would make it, i have a good eye for these youngsters.

Christian Maghoma brother to Jacques very good defender. 16 years old already signed on a long term contract only special talents get that. Injury has hampered his progress but will be a beast of a centre back.

Cameron Carter-Vickers. The next ledley King. Think I am overrating him? Go watch him. Again recently signed to a long term contract and captained the reserves/u21s at 16 years old a team that had Carroll, obika and I think Holtby in it! By all accounts the United States are gonna full cap him this year to keep him with their setup. Again he is just 16 years old.

Veljkovic/Winks:Both have trained with the first team for a good two years now the next to make the step up. Veljkovc is a classy swiss-serb centre back and Winks has fantastic technical abilities and is tenacious a cross between Bentaleb and Carroll.

Josh Onomah: Technically brilliant midfielder who at times looks like he is playing teams all by himself. This boy is special been banging on about him for years but another one that is being kept quiet on the newsfront (like bentaleb was)

Most impoved academy product is probably Kyle Walker-Peters can play all across the backline and is just getting better and better. Be a nightmare with Kyle Walker though obvs!

LLM Hope your well buddy, always appreciate your inside knowledge of the club especially regarding our youth set up.

Couple of questions

We have been linked with Mcarthy from Everton and Delph from Villa. Is Veljkovic earmarked as a first team Central midfielder? and how highly is he rated by Poch?

Secondly regarding Pritchard, do you think he has wat it takes to be a regular for Spurs in the next season?

Cheers buddy

______________

I'm praying the Delph rumours are false. Aston Villa are terrible. I reckon Maf would look half decent playing in that midfield ffs

alright mate hope your good. who do you like in the youth setup?

velks is a centre back mate. he can play in central midfield and sherwood had a strange fetish of playing him there but the idea is to make the youngsters used to several positions. he was used this season as a centre back and i think its his best position personally. hopefully he gets his chance.

a.pritchard will become a good member of the team we have tried to sell him previously several times. i dont know if his advisor messed about before he signed his new contract (i assume he did) but we def tried to sell him. i think he will be involved next season. good talent.

the Mccarthy rumour must stems from when we were trying to buy him a few years back. its come out of nowhere i think some media have put 2+2 come up with 19. not heard a single peep that we have even looked at him since 2 years ago yet alone wanna buy him!

we have looked at delph and berahino very recently but i expect a quiet january with loads of stuff in the summer. the restructuring is really for the summer onwards. so thats when i expect to see the deadwood all moved on and replacements found.
