Holtby interview

He spoke to goal.de, I've Google translated it so the quotes might be a bit off.

How do you rate your own performance after six months HSV?

Holtby: I can not be satisfied. What I've shown my claim is not enough in myself. For an offensive player count goals and assists. Since I still have some catching up.

They came in the middle on multiple items with different tasks are used. What role do you feel most comfortable with where your strengths are most likely to emerge?

Holtby: The most important thing for me is to stand on the court. Everyone knows that I like to play central midfield. That was my best position in recent years. Of course, but I place myself under the success of the team. It's not about the well-being of an individual player, but the best for the team. I play wherever the coach needs me.

After two years of stay in England you have returned last summer in the Bundesliga. How does the football in the Premier League is different with the local?

Holtby: The game in England is more rustic and form-fitting. One can already say that tackles in the league, the one time or another blown earlier. But they are both absolute top leagues. I am very grateful to be able to have played in both leagues. I have matured as a person and as a player during my time in the Premier League and I hope that I can benefit in the future from these experiences.

_____

Always liked Lewis from his all action debut against Norwich, though it seems he still doesn't have a best position. 1 assist and 0 goals in 14 doesn't sound like an attacker to me..

With Hamburg stalling on signing him permanently would you take him back? Can't be worse than Paulinho, surely

agree CM would be his best position, if he can be taught some positional discipline.

I never understood those wanting him as number 10. he is virtually no creativity at all, and no goal threat.

sounds like something AVB would say

I would take him back over the likes of Dembele or Stambouli instantly personally

Agree that he might be best as a CM though I also agree with Chronic, as it was his discipline was shocking and could leave us open in the middle.. like Siggy he never got a proper run, perils of buying young and changing manager so often I suppose.

Siggy got plenty of game time, just shunted out wide.

Put him in a team behind a good frontman, where he initially played well for Swansea and is again, and you see the player

HRH

To be fair we had VDV at the time, just like we're overloaded with midfielders now.. it's just with young players there's a nagging doubt what could've been.. it's why I don't want to give up on Lamela yet.

Would take Holtby back in a heartbeat, is he really any worse than Mason for example. He always gives 100%, has plenty of energy, industry and desire.

You would think Holtby`s attributes suit Poch`s tactics down to the ground, he is worth a game in CM ahead of Capoue, Stambouli and Paulinho imo.

He was by far our best player in pre season. Has he gone as Newsnow headline suggests? Hope not get him back.

Just seen that

Fair play to the lad, he's playing every game and they love him over there.
