Possible fights for Amir Khan in 2015?

2014 ended well for Amir Khan with a very impressive victory over a legitimately talented fighter in Devon Alexander but what does 2015 hold for Khan?

It looks like Mayweather and Pacquiao are in negotiations over a long overdue fight between the two that most consider pound for pound best on the planet. Not only are they in negotiations for one fight in May there is a strong possibility that there will be a rematch clause within the contractual framework which could leave Khan out in the cold for the whole of 2015.

If that scenario does come to fruition then what fights outside of the two top dogs in boxing could Khan take.Well here are some the possible options:

1.Kell Brook
Kell Brook made a successful debut in the united states with a victory over a credible opponent in Shawn Porter and in doing so became the new IBF Welterweight champion. Now the animosity between Khan and Brook has been around since there amateur days and it is clear that there is real bad blood between them. Brook has called out Khan numerous times in the past but nothing has transpired. However now Brook has beaten a top level fighter and holds a belt in the same division as Khan this fight makes sense on numerous levels and with the possibility of the fight being held in the UK it could very well tempt Khan.

2.Keith Thurman
At the moment Thurman seems like the guy that nobody wants to fight.He has made a lot of noise in 2014 by calling out the best fighters around and despite his resume still not containing a top class fighter the fashion in which he has dispatched his opponents cannot be ignored. Thurman is a young,hungry fighter who has an unblemished record so getting a win over a fighter like that would improve Khans stock massively.

3.Robert Guerrero
Despite being inactive for a long period after his loss to Mayweather Guerrero returned to winning ways at the end of 2014.Khan and Guerrero have been linked with each other several times in the past but with nothing substantial coming out of it.Guerrero will surely be looking to get back into the mix and a fight with Khan looks appealing. For Khan this is a good fight because Guerrero is still a top welterweight and a former opponent of Mayweather. Perhaps a clinical performance against Guerrero could get Mayweathers attention.

4.Danny Garcia
The last time these two got in the ring Khan ended up getting humbled by Garcias left hand. Since then both fighters have been unbeaten with big wins over some good opponents. Due to the nature of the finish in there first fight a rematch makes a lot of sense for both fighters.Both guys at the moment have a high stock and Khan looks to have improved a lot since there initial meeting. Khan has stated on several occasions that he wants to avenge his loss to Garcia,well 2015 could be the year he gets the chance to do so.
