Exciting times at Arsenal regardless of the fact that you maybe an AKB or WOB. Our squad may not be as deep as City’s or have the rich talent of Chelsea’s 1st team but we have some exciting young players and a clutch of good british players who have gradually gained enough experience to be called upon and represent the first team. Obviously we may require world class players in certain positions to match the likes of Real & Bayern and challenge at the very top but slowly we are assembling a squad that has the potential to be one of the very best in Europe.
Obviously injuries and the shortcomings of Wenger will curtail some of the progress but we are now in a position where we don’t even have to sell a single player despite how big and top loaded our squad is. Some balance is still required in the defensive midfielder position but some of these issues will be addressed in the next few transfer windows. Even City and Chelsea fans who have their goby eyes on Sanchez know they will have to pay in excess of 60 million to even get Wenger remotely interested and with FFP may not even be able to afford the Chilean. A nice comfy position to be in.
The young players that I am excited about the most are Bellerin, Gibbs, Ox, Chambers and Welbeck! Obviously Gibbs is not that young anymore but he has a huge future along with Bellerin. Both full backs are very confident one on one with the recovery pace and engine to go up and down the pitch. Bellerin is more technically gifted with a better delivery and the former La Masia product will be an excellent right back.
I also firmly believe Ox and Chambers have the talent and ability to be future Arsenal stars while Welbeck will prove the doubters wrong. At the moment he scuffs at everything partly due to the pressure of trying to prove van Gaal wrong, but once he settles at the club and learns to feed of the energy of Sanchez and Theo he will be a star. We need a little more patience with Danny and I believe Wenger will get the best out of him.
There are other youngish players like Le Coq, Wilshere and Ramsey while Sanchez is still only 25.
I hope the club keeps the likes of Rosicky, Arteta and Podolski as their value to the club and younger players is immense.

How Welbeck is okay for us?
Before we get too excited, I think we need to stay injury free for most of the season, have all key players playing together for a run of games first, then we will see.

Impossible to have a injury free squad.
Any little knock usually leads to a minimn 4 weeks out.

I like what Welbeck has brought to the team. Want him to stay for a while, Ive seen enough from him to think he can be quite successful for us

If Paulista settles in OK we don't really need to get rid of anyone in the summer bar Diaby and perhaps Podolski.
Depending how Coq does probably just need a top class striker in the summer

Unfortunately for many years we have always been about potential albeit it's probably greater now than in most times and financially we can compete better.
Converting that into a top Premier league side being consistent and challenging all of the way season in season out for the title is a special gift for a manager IMO.

We need a WC striker & a WC Goalkeeper, if Coquelin works out the need for a new DM becomes less acute.
