A former Ferrari chief Mauro Forghieri has pointed the finger at departed Fernando Alonso for Ferrari's problems. “If for three or four seasons in a row the car has the same problems, that means you are not developing in the right directions, and it’s the driver’s fault," Forghieri said.
“Alonso is a great race driver," he said, “but not a good test driver. Each year, when he shook the car down, he said everything was perfect, then after a few months he began complaining. A real champion is the one who is able to manage the team."
He said Alonso therefore does not compare with Ferrari’s last great driver.
“Ferrari’s problem in the last few seasons," claimed Forghieri, “was not having another Schumacher."

No driver in the history of Formula 1 has left such a trail of destruction. He cost Luca De Montezemelo his job although Luca did towards the end of his stay at Ferrari come to realise Alonso's shenanigans. He lead to Mattiaci's demise who hardly was eight months into the job. Alonso contributed to the loss of Formula 1 's most flamboyant team principals Flavio Biatore, he bought over Ferrari's mechanics over a measly plate of lunch and lead to Massa's departure.
He nearly bankrupted McLaren in 2007 and now he is back to finish them off! Yet he is considered the best drive in F1, just absolutely laughable...
