Head-to-head
Everton have won just one of their last seven Premier League home games against Liverpool (W1, D2, L4).
Liverpool's only defeat in the 16 most recent league meetings came at Goodison Park in October 2010 (W8, D7, L1).
The Merseyside derby has produced 20 red cards in the Premier League, more than any other fixture in the division. However, there has not been a sending off in the last seven derbies in league and cup.
Everton
Everton's victory at Crystal Palace last weekend ended a six-match winless streak in the league (eight in all competitions).
The Toffees have only managed one win in their last five home matches in the league.
No team has scored more Premier League goals in the first five minutes than Everton's four this season.
Premier League fixtures at Goodison Park have produced an average of three goals a game this season, the joint second-highest in the league.
Liverpool
Liverpool are unbeaten in seven league games, and have won five of their last six.
The Reds have won four of their last five away games, keeping clean sheets in the last three.
At this stage last season, Liverpool were eight points better off, with 46 points after 23 games.
Liverpool have won eight of 12 Premier League games that Lucas has started this season (67%) and just three of 11 when he hasn't (27%).
Steven Gerrard is the leading Premier League scorer in this fixture with nine goals, but only two of those came at Goodison Park, in 2001 and 2005.

Didn't see it but a draw at Goodison is never a disaster.
Spurs and Saints bigger games to win as directly
Impact rivals.
Can't win them all, and this is why playing catch up is hard, because you will inevitably drop points.

Everton parking the bus. Henderson gave the ball away more than 8 times. Still he is untouchable. Gerrard was poor. Sterling worst game. Coutinho is vital in tight games. No cutting edge without him. In my openion one of Henderson or Gerrard should have been subbed.
Can. What a player. Moreno was good. Ibe in the 1st half was good.
The worst outcome was losing Lucas. Gerrard last derby but this game showed that Henderson is not a player to be considered to replace Gerrard. He needs to stop giving the ball away. Scores some goals or provides some assists. I have no idea why he keeps playing when making all of these mistakes

You need to get over your Henderson hatred.
It's embarrassing.

Brendan saying we were outstanding again...
Perhaps defensively, but definitely not going forward.

I have not seen a player so overrated in a liverpool shirt like Henderson. He's not good enough. I have watched liverpool greats like souness to Houghton to Alonso. Henderson is embarrassing not my comments

Fair enough, I never actually watched the game, but heard a report that the match was dire. I will take you word for it.
