My point is more that we don't have to break the bank to try and replace him. Obviously, Can isn't at the level of Gerrard at his best, but at this moment I'd rather see Can in midfield than Gerrard. Can could develop and be an able replacement to Gerrard. I'd hate to go and buy someone and Can not get the chance to develop properly.

How many games has the lad played? In a position which is foreign to him.

To me he's acquitted himself better than Sterling did.

I think if Sterling wants to leave let him go.

We have a good spine of young players with quality and can add in the summer 3 quality players.

You shouldn't really compare the two Imo. Players develop at different rates, and are suited to different roles. Ibe physicality is completely different to Sterlings. He's naturally stronger, so is more suited to defensive duties.

But let's hope he does develop into a better player than Sterling. Then we'll have two world class, English attacking youngsters

I've been following them both since they emerged in the u-18's. I'd love both to stay. We are really building something special from the ranks. Raheem would be silly not to put pen to paper in the near future for a few more years at Anfield.

I always thought Ibe would be a better prospect than Sterling. He is physically quicker and stronger than Sterling was at that age.

He needs to work on his final ball more but i think he could become a massive player.
