Going on from my comment on Superbs thread. Do any of you have any boxing books you'd recommend.
The Big If - Johnny Owen - Is a fantastic book, it not only shows you how hard you have to work but also the ups and downs along the way. Superbly written and even though you know the end you'll read it again just hoping it will change.
The Life and Crimes of Don King - Takes you behind the scenes and the mask of the man himself. Shows you 2 totally different sides and whilst it is despicable gives you a glimpse of the genius/guile he has.
Years of the Locust - Amazing look at the murder conviction of Tim Anderson, a glimpse of the underbelly that will make it hard to look at boxing in quite the same way.
Dark Trade - I found this fascinating following a boxing fans journey through the Benn/Eubank/Watson era, seeing things from a fans perspective and how it connects people. Brilliant.
Tyson - Generic biography, thought it was okay but I haven't picked it up again.

Wouldn't mind reading the Don King one.
They say that sociopaths are often among the most charismatic people you come across and Don King is a really good example of that.

Don kings book was pretty good didn't think I'd like it as I don't really like him (got the big fights made though with some cracking undercards)
Mike Tyson undisputed truth was good whether I beli all of it is a different story
Mickey wards book was ok aswell despite the other parts not boxing related in it

Might have to pick up a copy of the Dark Trade - that was a really good era for British boxing with some real homegrown grudge matches going on at the time.
