was awful to watch, but the result was decent, although certainly not decisive. And I get the importance in two legged games of not losing the tie in the first leg.
Also this season in the big PL games against City and against Liverpool in both legs of the CC semi, we have erred on caution to get the results.
Although in fairness against lesser teams this season we have been on the whole much more attacking and played some excellent football.
This is the Mourinho way, but the question is for Chelsea fans as follows:
If his cautious approach leads to significant silverware, does the end justify the means?
Or are we losing patience in putting up with ultra cautious displays against the big teams?
Last night's match and performance

I really think that some people are underestimating this PSG side.
From what I saw last night they're really good and if they played like that then they are more than capable of beating any side in Europe.
This is a PSG side that has spent a huge amount of money. They paid £100 million for Cavani and Luiz alone.
Not to mention 40 million on the likes of Pastore ho were only on the bench last night.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
the whole first half their back four couldnt pick out a PSG side, people are going overboard with them. ANd its not just lastnights performance, utd away, city away, lastnight, and other big games we just dont have any of the ball and cannot keep it even if we'd tried. Second half PSG were very good yes, but again thats a bit of us sitting back. I could of played for PSG lastnight with the space they had.

I think because Mourinho likes his players to be organised without the ball, he's drilled this into them so much that on the pitch, the players are very risk averse and they dont really like comittting to going forward that wildly as it means they'll be out of position if they do end up losing the ball
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well last night it certainly seemed we were more happy without the ball than with it........

We very rarely dominate possesion and if we do its rarely in the last thirdof the pitch in and around the box like most top teams can do.
..........................
Actually, I think we have done that this season, but only against the lesser teams....And in a way that makes performances last night, which were totally void of ambition, even harder to tolerate..
I do agree with Superb also though that u can't expect to just easily turn over good CL teams

Superb, I take the point about Arsenal in the last few years, but their entertaining side went a season unbeaten in the league. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Man Utd have not done too bad playing for the most part entertaining football in the recent past.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gunner, Man Utd have been parking the bus in difficult away fixtures in Europe for years.
Just that when they do it it's all about "digging out a result" in a difficult game and "getting a result when you're not playing well " etc.
Either way I'll go back to my original point which is that on balance I think we have been entertaining in the league this season. Maybe not in every single game but show me a team who has ?
We've scored 55 goals in the PL this season which is more than any other team yet we constantly get accused of being a team that parks the bus.
Our bus knows how to score goals then.

whose sayingwe should turn these teams over though? nobody has once mentioned that.
ANd we rarely keep the ball in oppositions third, how many times do we break and choose the wrong pass, our lack of shots on goal in alot of games is alarming. I actually thought everton was one of the best we've played this year, the tempo in the first half was fantastic, yet couldnt put it away

I thought we were ok agst Everton too....
We have players like Ramires and Mikel who for very different aspects of their abilities are a big cause for us losing possession easily....
And we have players like Willian and Oscar who are still struggling for consistency in their performances...
Willian was crap last night, but on other occasions I think he has been superb, but he does not seem to string a run of great performances together though...same with Oscar

But, we have a pretty slow CB pairing when Zouma is not playing and Brana is not super fast either....
Is Jose being more defensive to help protect them?
I don't know!

PSG ain't no mugs, anyone would have struggled with them last night, their midfield was spot on tactically, even with the clever fouls, ref was very easy going last night.
