Sing Felipe Baby! Sing!!

I had always suspected that when Felipe flew the coop he would start to open up about the treatment he received at Ferrari when the “Matador" arrived. In addition to the trauma he suffered from his accident, he was used to advance Alonso’s career which was no doubt demotivating.

Last year, he said he was convinced Alonso aka Teflonso knew about crash gate and now he has further highlighted some information about the inner workings of the team. This has been corroborated by people at Ferrari as well. I shall post a few quotes;

Felipe baby was asked these questions;

“Q: You’re into your second season with Williams now. Joining the team from Ferrari almost appeared to give you a new lease of life…

FM: Oh, definitely it did. When you’re working with a team you need to have their full confidence and full respect. When you are working for a team where it is more important what the other driver is saying, you lose confidence and you’re not working in a proper way. You’re working with details and if you’re missing maybe one detail you lose maybe two- or three-tenths very easily. That’s why you cannot grow if you stay where you are. I think that’s not positive. When you go to a team and they are giving everything you need and doing everything you say to improve, then you need to believe the team is two drivers. They are spending good money to pay the drivers so they need to respect and do what the drivers say. When you have that in the proper way, the results will come, not just for one (driver) but for the team, which is what counts in the end."

“Q: This season has seen two big driver changes with Sebastian Vettel going to Ferrari and your old team mate Fernando Alonso going back to McLaren. Knowing the team as well as you do, how well do you expect Sebastian to adapt to life at Ferrari, and were you surprised to see Fernando leave the team?

FM: I think Fernando tried to leave the team two or three years ago, even when I was still at the team, but he couldn’t. I think maybe last year the car was not so good, the results were not there but he kept fighting, kept trying to change the team. But the team was already changing completely inside and they decided to change even Alonso. It’s a new team, but it’s a team you can never close your eyes to. Sebastian knows how to win - he’s won many championships - and I think Kimi will work much better without Fernando in the team. So maybe the team can work better."

Now, genuine racing fans know about the shenanigans of Senor Alonso, it is just sad to see how a decent driver was treated. He should have stood up for himself; the same treatment was meted out to Webber as well.

Fair play to Hamilton for refusing to be pushed around, he would probably not be a world champion today if he did not stand up to teflonso.

Where have you all gone?

Where are you? Why do you hide?
Where is that moonlight trail that leads to your side?

Regarding the first question and answer, wasn't Massa a number 2 driver? If so surely the behaviour of Ferrari was understandable as they had chosen to throw all of their eggs into the "Alonso" basket?
Have to say I am not a Ferrari fan so this is just my opinion on that point.
Good to see Massa topping the time sheet today in Barcelona.

Mate, the thing is Felipe almost won the world title for Ferrari. He deserved better treatment. That race in Germany when he was told Fernando was faster than him I feel just destroyed his confidence.

Last season when he got used to the car, he was beating Bottas constantly and with ease. He is no slouch and deserved better treatment.

I just do not understand why Alonso does not like to compete fairly with his team mates

I feel that as Alonso was allowed to get away with this sort of attitude/behaviour once he became WC, he thought that was the norm.
It has been allowed to carry on unchallenged, apart from by LH, and we all know what the outcome was there.

When you think about what happened with crashgate, it is a travesty though
