going back to my article of last week re: passion .
I watched the Atletico v Bayer Leverkeusen game last night ,the whole 120 minutes was full of passion from both sides, and both sets of fans ,fantastic .I just wish that we could
get the same sort of prolonged atmosphere that everyone at the game last night showed . Are we too nice ?
Passion again ...........

Yeah agree, but I don't see what would stop it, with no cages anymore at any ground, should something happen when a stand was over sold or through some error too many fans were sent into it they would simply spill over onto the pitch side.
Plus if all clubs took the size of the average man, then worked out how many of these men could fit comfortably in a safe standing section then that is how many tickets you sell for it, once they're sold that's that.
I'm sure there are many other areas that would need to be addressed but I really do feel it's in the leagues best interests to have a serious look into it.
It's the first step towards reducing ticket prices, you shouldn't have to pay anymore the 15 pounds to stand at a football game, the lower the ticket prices the more young fans (mid teens up) you will get in the ground and these fans are more likely to make more noise then middle aged men who can afford to pay 50 pounds a game.
I'd also look into singing sections, united di it recently and by all accounts it worked well, some fans tried to laugh at them for it but I looked at it like at least they're doing something about the lack of atmosphere, ROI have a signing section in the Aviva in Dublin and it's always packed and loud, makes the rest of the crowd join in too, works well.

I was in the Westfalen Stadion a couple of years ago for the derby with Schalke ,a great atmosphere and not expensive either .Also other grounds in Germany have very good spectator facilities and prices ,which equals great atmosphere !

I think most Liverpool fans will back it, provided the proper work goes into it, it's no secret that the atmosphere in Anfield is nowhere near what is used to be the "famous European nights" are a thing of the past in terms of atmosphere.
I listen to a Liverpool Podcast called TAW (The Anfield Wrap) it comes out twice a week and is done by season ticket holders, all of them back safe standing and often discuss the lack of atmosphere in Anfield.
Some of the points I made in my first post come from listening to one of them podcasts.
Football is better when you're standing, for whatever reason it just is, especially for a big game when you have the adrenaline flowing.
What's it like in the Bridge in terms of fans standing up anyway? Like I've been on the Kop loads of times when the whole stand has just stood for the entire game, the CL semi final in 07 v you was an example of that, we stood for the entire game.

I'd love to go to Dortmund for a game, the yellow wall is seriously impressive looking.

It's hard to really go all out singing when you get told to sit every 2 seconds. Fkin joke.

I think it's gotta do with the team and how that rubs off on the players. the lacklustre play and lack of risk football we play keeps the crowd quiet Imo. However most European nights at the bridge the atmosphere is terrific.
