Why do we still have folk like Ricky Sbragia coaching the Scotland U19s: "I've gone for a physical side and runners."

I don't know much about Jack Harper, other than he plays for Real Madrid, which in itself says a lot for a Scottish youngster. But the decision to leave him out for physical players is pathetic and ridiculous.
I doubt you'd see other European nations leaving out their most talented players and calling them luxury players.
U19 football should be about development, not tactics. Sbragia can do one.

I hope that article has been slanted and misinterpreted because on face value it doesn't look very good at all.

If the lad played for Hearts instead of Real Madrid it wouldn't be an issue

I thought sbragia was going to be a new breath of fresh air we desperately needed, have the press turned on him

I'm genuinely horrified at these comments.
I don't think he's been misrepresented. I think he genuinely wants "runners". And as one SFA employee tweeted me this morning, results are still a major priority.

Then fact that he is at Real Madrid and is apparently is highly rated DOES make it more of an issue. You have to admit that based in the story from the link provided it doesn't look great.

It doesn't and if he did mean it in the sense he does want more physical players then it is a worry, however in regards to this I think it may have been misconstrued a little bit and the mock offended at STV have jumped right on top of it.
The last paragraph of Smids comment above sums it up well. Nobody knows the issues.

Maybe he isn't working hard and it's hindering other boy's in the team's development as they are having to cover for him?

Unless this boy has a bad attitude then who the flook are we to knock back talented Scottish players who are doing well at Real Madrid's youth sides
Explanations all round are needed here
