Brewers Match Predictor League Table (43)

What a crazy night of football. 30 shots, 70% possession. Shots just wide, hitting the woodwork, kicked off the line and good saves. A penalty missed (that was never going to go in after the night we had just had). An equaliser with the last kick of the ball that was like winning the World Cup.

I have never seen time wasting from the 2nd minute of a game onwards and never seen such dominance of a game.

Carlisle, given their obvious limited capabilities, stuck at their task well. Two banks of 5 and the proverbial bus parked. That is so difficult to play against.

Surprisingly I have been in good spirits since the game. It was the only nailed on certainty for 3 points when I started evaluating our run in prior to the Wimbledon game many, many weeks ago. Just shows how funny football is. Whilst it was 2 points dropped I felt good because...

- We could have got nothing and it felt like we had won at the end.
- The players probably felt like they had won (imagine if we'd lost).
- Our dominance of the game showed just how good we are.
- It's another vital point towards promotion (that we nearly didn't get).

I was also impressed by how fit our players are and how much they wanted to take something from the game.

Their 'keeper probably had the best game of his career. However, despite earning them a point it might have been 3 had he a) not been time wasting so much b) Got a firmer punch on the cross that led to the goal.

Anyway, in the predictor league Don Touched My Boots was the only one to correctly predict 1-1. It was his 12th correct prediction of the season. Robbo62 was the only one to predict the first goalscorer.
