Nothing to play for really. It looks like Dougie is going with two up front with Dexter and Akprom.
Starting line-up: Darlow, Lichaj, Lascelles, Hobbs, Mancienne, Antonio, Lansbury, Vaughan, Osborn, Blackstock, Akpom
Nottm Forest v Ipswich Town

Yeah sorry about that. See you next season.

I feel that Walker only got a chance because we were strapped, next season he'll be lucky to make an appearance on the bench. I think Freedman will be keen to bring in loan forwards, maybe Akpom again.
I'd have started him for the last half dozen games though, that kind of experience where there's no pressure on him could have been priceless.

Don't wish to Freedman bash but again he has made reference to plauers being tired. I just don't buy it, sorry. It's more a bit of a lackadaisical attitude that we have all seen on too many occasions. I fear Freedman may have trouble motivating enough members of this squad for long enough to have an impact next season.

Will, I go along with Freedman up to a point, I agree the players are tired, players at all clubs are tired. I think what is really happening is that some teams, such as Ipswich and Watford, have something to play for and can dig a bit deeper. Other games such as 'Udders, we were just poor.
A bigger problem has been the lack (reduction) of a goal threat since Britt was injured. Dexter did OK for a few games, but Walker and Akpom are not ready for the Championship.
Another problem is Freedman seems to have a blind spot when it comes to the full back position. I think we should have been putting out our back four which will be starting in August: Lichaj, Mancienne, Hobbs, Fox. They need to get used to playing as a unit

But Fox isn't good enough Red. It's essential we get another lb in the summer. In a free or on a loan.
This has been the most dire end to a season in a long time for me. I'd almost prefer a relegation scrap as at least it'd be interesting!

It's all about getting the maximum from a team regardless of what there is to play for. For the whole team to show that they believe in what DF is preaching to them. They should be properly reinvigorated by the change of manager unless they don't believe in the appointment of DF. If that's true, there may be trouble ahead. The tail off since early March has been striking.
Agree Fox is too error strewn and for me, doesn't appear committed. The goal against Huddersfield summed up his time at Forest for me. Caught flat footed and showed little desire to get back and make up for his error. Scannell is decent at this level but Fox's recovery tackle was powderpuff. I can read between DF's comments about players who want to play and those who are only here as they got a decent contract. I'd put Fox firmly in the latter camp. It's telling he has spent more time on the bench and Lichaj is preferred at LB more often than not.

We've been wanting a left back for years I can't see that changing over the summer now we have an embargo. I have gone for the best from the players i expect to be available. Of course that could change if Chris Cohen is ready for the start of the season, although I think he could take over Gary Gardner's role in front of the back four.
Dougie doesn't like Fox any more than the fans do hence him playing Lichaj and Mancienne out of position. Another thing that never changes - Square pegs in round holes

really, is this worse than last year?
much of a likeness to my mind

I'm sure he is one who will be told he can leave if he can find another club, but I think to get rid of Fox without having a ready made replacement would be folly. If he goes we will have Lichaj (a RB), Cohen (injury prone), and Harding (?) who is probably worse than Fox.
Maybe Dougie has a LB lined up after all

Think Harding is out of contract so will go. Not sure how he has been doing at Millwall.
I would add McLoughlin to that list of he were to be given a contract extension. I thought that he did ok when he played there v Millwall and was really unfortunate with the back header for their goal. I would anticipate he would be far more enthusiastic than Fox for starters. Better to have someone in who is willing to learn and really help the team?
