Football Cross Roads!

With the FA looking to re-name the FA Cup & billions more being poured into football, I think the game, Clubs & their rulling bodies need to re-think how things should be going forward.

Firstly, ticket prices need to be looked at & then unless there are compelling reasons not to, should be made lower by around 25% at least. The fans have been totally ignored and treated abominably by clubs over the past 15-20 years.

The abuse of the loan system also needs to be addressed, Watford for instance two years ago had around 11 players on loan from other clubs Chelsea have 27, yes 27 players out on loan. Some of these bought purely to stop other clubs grabbing them.

I think clubs should be restricted to a maximum of two loans from other clubs & for a maximum of one season only.
They should also be restricted to being allowed to loan out no more than 7-8 players at any one time.

Irrespective of whether it is a global game now, I also think there should be a minimum quota of Home grown players who were actually born in this country, or who have been here since a very early age (3-5??) and have lived here for a number of years prior to joining any club.
That would hopefully get rid of the practise of bringing kids & their parents over here when the boy is around 10-11.

I also think that a % of the TV revenue should be allocated to other areas of football, exactly what I am not sure. Possibly to help non-league clubs or lower football league clubs.

With regard to cup competitions I also think clubs have a responsibility to the fans to treat these more seriously, there is more chance of a club winning a cup than winning the PL.

I know this is now perceived as a squad system, I do feel that clubs treat the cups as a distraction & so field what are perceived as weakened sides, especially against lower league opposition. However I would rather see my team lose in a cup final than finishing 6th in the PL. I would even accept them finishing mid table if they also won a trophy that season!

Lots of clubs forget the club belongs to the fans as much as it does the owners. Owners might come & go, the fans are forever!

PS: Could the FA, PL & the PGMO please get together & sort out the disgraceful antics that go on in every penalty area whenever there is a corner, free kick etc. Players deliberately blocking others, rugby style holding & general disregard for the Laws of the Game.

It is not spoiling a game if a referee cautions or even sends a player off early in a game, it is sending out a message that hopefully will stop a lot of these shenanigans by players!

All decisions do affect the game. However, if there is a major decision a ref isn't 100 % sure on, such as one which may require a straight red, it wouldn't hurt if he could ask advice off someone who has a TV replay. It is no different to him asking the opinion of the linesman in these situations as they already do.

And what usually happens

Linesmen and referees only have one opportunity to see an incident. The fourth official would be able to see the incident more than once from more than one angle, which could all be completed in the time the players surround the referee.

Like Gary Neville did

But the ref wouldn't be changing his own decision, it would be another person. So no, not like Gary Neville did.

Im positive if Wolves get promoted they will hand back the Premiership money and only play Englanders

TCP won that one

We should know our place in the grubby backwaters of Ja606 where the little Englanders gather in white hoods and plot against the foreign invasion.

Dicko, Sako and Afobe are alright, mind. They have managed to integrate without threatening to blow us all up

Did he? I don't remember once mentioning money or English players. Cinci didn't then either. We were talking about referees, then he went off on a tangent and no one replied.
