I remember earlier in the season the question being asked about Premier safety or winning the FA Cup, obviously it was easier then as many expected us to get relegated.
So, would you trade next year in the Premiership to see LCFC lifting the FA Cup today?
I must admit, I would.
Premiership trade for FA Cup win

Just saying the point about it being 'harder' to win the FA cup than promotion isn't fair

To be fair, it'd be very difficult for Chelsea to achieve promotion next season.
FA Cup please.

I'm with Mersey St the moment, we've gone long enough without winning it to wait a few more years.
I think if we keep Cambiasso and have a slightly easier draw, we could win it next season. I just see us being able to get up for a win these one off games now.
I also agree with Obers that it's easier to win a cup than it is to achieve promotion from arguably the toughest division in the world to get out of.
I bet if you asked Pompey and Wigan fans what they'd prefer now they'd trade their FA Cups.

FA Cups are great to win and great memories (I would know ) but I think game to game football is more important and I'd rather watch my team fight it out in the top tier week in week out than struggle in the lower divisions.

If winning the FA cup is so easy why haven't more teams done it. By definition you are the best team in the country if you win it as its a knock out competition

No way Nev. By definition you are the best team in the country if you are better over 38 matches in the league. Do you reckon Wenger is claiming yesterday's result makes Arsenal the top team in England? Or that Wigan's win made them better than Chelsea/United/Man City etc?

And to TB's original post, no. We need to be in the EPL for the money unfortunately; I'd look to getting established there and then hope we get a good cup run at some stage.
In practical terms having to adjust to the rigours of the Championship with a Europa league campaign and potentially losing some of your best players could result in leaving that league downwards - see Wigan.
Incidentally, it's not too much of a stretch of imagination to think we could have got to Wembley yesterday.

I'm talking purely as a fan Nuneaton, not too much thought about future consequences.
Still in Pearson I Trust.

This debate reminds me of a quote by George Best. Something along the lines of: ".... it would be difficult to chose between banging a goal in from thirty yards against Liverpool or going to bed with Miss World .... luckily I've done both."
