Klopp break from football

I see Jurgen Klopp is joining the trend of late and taking a break from football:

Now, I still understand that our chances of getting him at any point are slim. But, if there is any chance of this, surely this is good for us? Brendan is obviously getting more time, which I'm fine with, but if it doesn't work out at least we know there will be at least one good manager out of work and hopefully refreshed and raring to go by the time that happens. Klopp would be an ideal manager if things don't work out with Rodgers - whether he's a realistic target or not is another matter.

Maybe the owners have told him they are sticking with Rodgers for now but if he's still available they will give him a call come October if it's gone Pete Tong.

Who knows.

It will disappointing if in a few months time we decide to part with Rodgers and there are no options available in the Klopp/Ancelotti/De Boer sphere.

"He was definitely sounded out about the Liverpool job. He probably didn't fancy working with such poor owners."

ITK or talking crap? So negative, even some of the vocal moaners on the kop are less negative.

Is that his way of politely saying no?

What's the use in sacking the guy if all the good options are on sabbatical or already employed? I highly doubt this meeting will result in a dismissal, more likely just a end-of-season assessment and target setting next year.

I actually agree, you had a poor end to the season but there is little point in undoing 3 years work.

The problem for the owners now is with the position the squad is in, you need to reinvest. BR is the manager atm and they need to back him in the market or fall behind, and his track record in the market isn't good.

It's a tough one.

What they need to do is give Rodgers full control of transfers - no more transfer committee. Because it's become a reactionary response to blame the committee for bad signings, and we need to see what the manager can do if left to his own devices. Obviously not leave it all to him, but make him accountable for every transfer.

Most managers would fancy managing Liverpool.
Don't really understand the negativity.
You are bigger than any club in France,
bigger than all bar one in Germany
bigger than any bar two in Spain
and level with the best in Italy.

So on mainland europe only three are definitely bigger than you. I am sure you could afford his wages.
Spend just enough to get in the CL and then take the brakes off.
I know I am making it sound easy, when its not. But you have to go for it IMO.

Not a bad effort at bringing some poetry to JA606.

Just seemed to lose it when needing to rhyme something with 'wages'.
