Hi Guys, A report in the Bolton News suggest that Lennon is going to make the youngsters the main players this coming season.
Given our financial status, that's not really any surprise. If the lads continue to progress from their recent displays, It makes perfect sense.
I'm sure that there will be incoming players as we must now have a threadbare squad. Also, Lennon has stated that he will sit down with Alex Baptise and his agents to see if his situation can be clarified. As his preferred position is centre half, it could be an answer to our deficiencies in that position.
He had a rough time when he was last here with his confidence shot. Hopefully, if talks go well he could fill that spot. He did well for the six fingered Dingles so with an arm around him from Neil Lennon, he may once again flourish at the Macron.
Here is the article on the youngsters.
NEIL Lennon wants the emerging young players at Wanderers to be the mainstay of the side for years to come – starting next season.
The Whites boss turned to youth in the second half of last season, blooding striker Zach Clough and then winger Tom Walker – both graduates from the club's academy.
And neither home-grown star disappointed with some mature performances and a run in the side.
Clough's impact was instant with a goal on his debut in the FA Cup triumph against Wigan in January and a further five in just six league starts before a shoulder injury curtailed his campaign.
But the 20-year-old is expected to be back when pre-season training gets underway in a fortnight and Lennon is confident he will shine again next season, admitting he is as good a young player as he has worked with.
The Wanderers boss said: "Zach Clough was just a revelation really.
"But just when we got him up and running and doing really well, we lost him to a bad injury.
"He’ll be fit for the start of next season and, without putting too much pressure on him, he’s a real asset and a positive from last season.
"We had to take our time just to make sure that he was ready.
"We got him around the first team on a more regular basis in terms of training.
"When he came in, he was absolutely fantastic.
"He is a really exciting player and as good a young player as I have worked with.
"He is willing to learn and has a fantastic attitude.
"What pleased me more than anything was his transition from training with the first team to actually playing.
"There were no nerves and he was positive in everything he did.
"In the end he showed he was a really good finisher, once he was in there, with six goals in 10 games."
Salfordian Walker is even younger at just 19 years old but also showed his quality when handed his chance by Lennon, making 11 appearances.
And the Northern Irishman says there is more to come from him, too, when he develops physically.
Lennon told the club: "Tom Walker came in and he is another who is talented.
"He is well-balanced with a great left foot and a good football brain.
"He needs a little bit of work on the physical side but he is only 19.
"He has been thrown in at the deep end and coped pretty well.
"We are very, very pleased with having two of our own coming through.
"Along with the likes of Josh Vela, hopefully they will be the mainstay of the team for the next year or two."
Youngsters to be our mainstay.

Yes, hopefully they will continue to mature as players and prove our discontent with what is happening to be unfounded.
Despite the downgrading of the Academy, hopefully there will be more youngsters to roll of the production line.
This is the one bright light on the horizon.

In all honesty are any of them any good apart from vela and, clough? Clayton has promise but coming back from injury, kellett maybe. Taylor looked good in his one game. The rest white, Threlkeld, odelusi, eaves, wilkinson just not good enough for the championship.

Based on his previously uninspiring loan spells I'm sure many spurs fans would have said the same thing about Harry Kane prior to last season. Look what happened there.
I'm not saying any of the lads you mentioned will have the same impact Kane did, but what they do have in common with him is that they have potential. They're not the finished product yet but Lennon certainly seems to have faith in their ability to make the step up and I trust his judgement based on seeing them every day over any of us based on the brief cameos we have seen.
The only one you list I would say is pretty much in last chance saloon is Eaves who I wouldn't be shocked to see leave. Then again going back to harry kane I'm sure many spurs fans said that of him, so you never know....

Forgot walker. Promising but really needs to toughen up and get fitter. Maybe in a years time.

Just two weeks before Lennon, has the lads back in harness.
I don't take warm up games too serious but it would be good if we could finish the pre season without a loss.
I see we have Burton Albion, in our first cup game. Hopefully, we will get through it with a win and also without any injuries from over zealous Burton players.

I've heard we'll be playing Sturm Gratz during the Austria trip. Whether or not that'll be a glorified training session is up for speculation.
