Real have looked great so far this season. Barca are way ahead of everyone else but Real are the closest team to them in the world right now.

Agree totally, Madrid can play and compete with Barcelona better then any other team in world football at present.
The Premier league boys just don't come close.

Rubbish, you'd want Casillas for sure. The others are more level with your current crop of players.
Make no mistake about it, Madrid have quality and TOP DRAW quality for good measure.

CLUB SQUAD LEAGUE
1 Barcelona
2 Real Madrid
3 Man United
4 Bayern Munich/ Man City
5 Inter Milan/AC Milan
6 Chelsea/Napoli

What makes you think that we are "behind" Real Madrid in the first place?
We have been in the last 3 successive ECL finals, winning one; we have retained out domestic title, and have the best record in Europe over the past decade.
It would be more realistic to ask how far behind United are Real.

As for Barca; they are not the invincible force that people make out, and have not beaten us over two legs for years; in fact before the last two finals, they couldn't even score against us in the prior two.
They have got better of course, but it is well within out capability to beat them in any game, and I despair of those fans to whom all our success seems to mean absolutely nothing if we don't forget all other objectives and consider our only aim to beat Barca in one match.

_______

Maybe because Real Madrid played Barcelona like 10 times in one season and lost nearly all of them and are still on the losing end????

Pretty sure if Fergie had that many chances he would be more successful

It is easier to compare Real and Barca. Currently the only difference between Real and Barca is Messi. In terms of midfield, Real have worked Barc out, but it's Messi that gives Barca the edge. This was evident in the spanish super cup.

But football is very rarely as simple as 2+2=4. Although I think Real is the closest team to Barca at the moment, I also believe that United would beat Real. If there's one match I would really like to see more than any is United Vs Real. I think it would be a racker because of the nature of both teams and I would expect us to win. I really hope we draw them in the knockouts of the CL.

Man utd are second last team to beat barcelona. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14356858.stm

Mexico Guadalajara beat them a few days later 4-1. We had more of an inexperienced team playing compared to barcelona 3 starters to barca's 6 from the final appaering.

Indeed; The last five times we have played Barcelona we have won twice, lost twice and drawn once.
Unfortunately the two losses were both in ECL Finals - but I don't see how Real's record is better.

Because they've beaten them and come close to beating them again (over 2 legs) with their current successful squad of players and Pep Guardiola in charge.

United did fantastic the last time we played them over two legs but that was not the same team as today. We didn't get close to them at Wembley and even Fergie acknowledged that. Real have done much better regardless of how many times they've played them.
