Best Team For Next Year....as it stands?

Assuming Sterling is already as good as sold to Man City, and without knowing which striker or other players who could be brought in to further strengthen our team, then I'd think this could be our most likely line-up:

------------------Sturridge-----------------

-------Firmino--Milner--Coutinho----

--------Emre Can--Henderson-------

--Moreno---Sakho---Skrtel---Clyne-

-----------------Mignolet----------------

SUBS: Bogdan, Flanagan/Enrique, Lovren/Toure/Gomez, Lucas/Allen, Lallana, Ibe/Markovic, Ings/Origi

If we get a new striker as expected (ideally Lacazette for me, but unlikely), and possibly Kovacic (again unsure on how likely this is unless we sell Allen) then we could have a very good line up for next season.

Thoughts? What team do you expect to line-up this season?

What's been talked about makes little sense

We know the poor recruitment policy we've had. We've invested a lot of money in a Brazilian who will it seems replace Raheem. We then appear to be talking about Benteke. So we buy players to play passing, intricate football but also appear to want to buy a blunt force striker?

Are we going to teach our Brazilians to lump the ball forward quickly?

Yes but you have to have buyers for them

Having seen how they have performed for Liverpool would you spend your hard earned on any of them, let alone pay their huge wages

It's far enough signing players but some more should really have been heading out the door by now! Dead weight in the squad and a massive cost that could stop us actually been able to improve the first team

We've already got rid of 4 players. Gerrard, Johnson, Aspas, Jones. Gerrard and Johnson were both on big wages. I imagine Jones and Aspas were on decent amounts too. It's also looking likely that Coates is on his way to Sunderland. The rest will happen.

That's exactly what I was going to put down. I think Firmino will allow us to go back to a similar style as 2 seasons ago.

We haven't got rid of these players. 3 of them were out of contract

We've lost one of our greatest ever due to messing about over a new deal and massive assumption from the club management

The players mentioned previously we will struggle to get rid of and actually there are more that should be gone

If we are in for Benteke...why? Does that tell us that there is a clear coherent strategy in place?

I have concerns over Benteke's fitness and extended bad patches, but I don't see any issues with him fitting into the side and style of play. We need someone who after all the 'clever' players get the ball to the edge of the 18 is able to take that final pass (even if heavily marked) turn and smash the ball into the net. And he does that in spades.

Same thing isn't it. The club decided for whatever reason that they wouldn't renew contracts and they left.

Letting Gerrard go was a good move. He's no longer the player he was and was becoming a hindrance to the team.

Benteke seems to be paper talk. Media know he is available and put 2 and 2 together. You shouldn't believe everything you read.

Other players will leave hopefully. The window has months to go. It seems you are looking for things to moan about.

How in the world did we mess about with a contract? Gerrard wanted to leave after BR told him his games would be managed. He has said this on numerous occasions already and yet you still can't accept it. Feck me
