Halford, as expected, saw his contract run out today and interestingly took to Twitter to thank the fans for their support but also to lament that he was apparently removed from the squad for "non footballing reasons" last season. He doesn't allude to what those reasons were but once again it's all a bit "mysterious" down at the CG.
Thoughts?
Halford has a dig

Pearce seemed to make up his mind fairly early on that he was not going to play him – but not sure of the reason as to why. Wasn’t it DF that actually put him out on loan?
A nice guy, and if you were only allowed a squad of 12 players to keep all season, you would probably include him due to his versatility. That’s, obviously, not the case though.
Good luck to him.

You have to wonder what he's referring to and assuming he doesn't allude to it, fans will start to speculate. It won't be long before it is suggested he's been banging a team mates wife.

Well it would be better for all concerned if they cleared it up quickly before the rumours start and people say stuff that they shouldn't. Can't be doing with this kind of stuff casting a cloud over things before the season had even begun.

I was surprised he went out on loan when we were so short at the back, but he's left and I wish him well. He will get another club, but he may have to settle for a non stellar level of remuneration.

I enjoyed his little cameo the other season when he had a stint upfront for the Reds, particularly the Bolton game which ended 3-0 to Forest. He terrorised the Trotters that afternoon.

I doubt it will come out any time soon Will and although fans will speculate it shouldn't filter down to the club

Apparently he got fed up with having to remind people about the "s" at the end of his surname all of the time.

If he was that good at non-football you'd think he'd have been first name on the team sheet.
