Getting tired of hearing all the nonsense on here and other sites about this guy. I don't necessarily think he's Celtic class either but I realize that we are no longer going to sign top quality strikers lime Hartson or Sutton anymore.
Sure he has some issues, but the guy is a proven goal scorer in this league and those of you who actually know anything about football know he has plenty of other attributes to that make him a perfect fit for us.
Sure I would love to see Hooper back, but it's not going to happen because of his wages so forget it. Lawell has shown that no matter how much money we make, he has no intention on spending it on a quality signing.
So can some of you get over yourselves? Its been said plenty of times but I'll say it once more, in Ronny we trust. If he rates him, then that's good enough for me.
So let's get him in, support him, and show him what this club is about. I think he will do the business for us and will score plenty of goals.
I love this site although I rarely post on it. I always wonder though how many of you actually go to games, how many are season ticket holders. Those srwnthe only guys who's opinion I respect. For my part I live in the US but I have an annual subscription to Celtic TV and have never missed a game.

I'm not saying Hooper wasn't a good player for us, but people were saying he was the best we've had since Larsson, I don't think so.
He wasn't any worse than McDonald but it's arguable that McDonald did more for us, and that would put him at our 3rd/4th best since Larsson, at best.

McDonald scored 5 European goals in 25 games, Hooper got 7 in 19
He made a bigger impact in the league and Europe and was a better player all round.

How many of McDonald's goals were Champions League proper and how many of Hooper's were EL or qualifiers?

I accept the frustrating parts of his game because of what he offers. He's a match winner. Simple as that.

They both scored 2 in the CL proper.
Hooper scored 3 in CL qualification to McDonald's 2.
And in the EL, Hooper again out scored McDonald 2 to 1
I know you were hoping that Hooper's CL goals would all be qualifiers, but even if that were the case they are as important as CL proper goals.
As it is, he helped us to our first CL away victory in years against Spartak too.
