Sterling doesn't want to tour man!

Report in the Guardian says that Sterling has decided he would rather not tour with the Liverpool squad for pre season.

Very sad if true but I would not be at all surprised seeing as his attitude has been abysmal for many months now. We really are getting to see the lad in his true colours.

That agent of his has a lot to answer for.

In other news looks like Manquillo has been sent back to Madrid. Quite harsh as he did very little wrong.

He really does think he's billy big boots... wonder what some of the senior pro's at Man City would think of his attitude.

Times have changed ARE. You can't just throw a player away when they don't do as they're told, it will cost you millions and set you back further behind those ahead of you.
-------

Times have changed and not for the better as far as handling a situation like this is concerned.

Personally I think Raheem is not even keeping up with being reasonable in the modern era. Some have compared Suarez's attitude but there is no comparison. We pretty much knew he was going to leave but he signed a new deal and knuckled down until the right time came and we got a huge transfer fee. What Raheem is doing now is making it less likely we will get what the club considers to be his market value.

Of course he can go but the way he's doing it is disrespectful to the club that helped him establish himself as a top prospect.

I agree but unfortunately this is what agents tell their players nowadays, in order to speed up a move. That's why Suarez was given interviews saying the club lied to him etc. Times may have changed for the worse but they have changed nevertheless and if we stay stuck in the past then we stay stuck behind our rivals.

Funny how he wants to leave so bad but won't hand in a transfer request because it'll mean no loyalty bonus even though according to him it's not about the money

Don't think legally we can dock his wages if he uses the "not right frame of mind" excuse.

----
Footballers are self employed entities contracted to a club, they are not protected by the same employment laws as a companies employees.

If he is not honouring the terms of his contract we shouldn't be required to honour ours.

transfer fees in reality are just compensation for the breaking of the contract between player and existing club

He really is not selling himself well to other clubs. If I was the City board I would demand that he gets rid of his pikey agent if he wants to sign for them.

The lad is a little runt with no respect like most of the youth of today. Take the money and run a mile and make sure Sakho breaks his legs in the first game against City we play next season

I suspect that they'll sign him first and then make him get rid of his agent.

I met Jordan Ibe at Gatwick the other week. Gave him a friendly hello.

If I saw that little runt in the street I think my welcome would be a little bit different
