The more you look in to their result, it's a terrific achievement for them. This was a team who hadn't been beaten at home in Europe for 12 games and held their own against the likes of Lyon, Sevilla and Fernabache.
Hopefully this time next week we will have Celtic in the 3rd qualifying round of the CL and Aberdeen in the 3rd qualifying round of the EL, I don't hold out much hope for ICT, they played well last night by the sounds of things but badly need a striker
The draw for the next round is later today and below is a list of potential opponents for all our teams:
For Celtic:
FK Sarajevo (BIH) or KKS Lech Poznań (POL)
FK Partizan (SRB) or FC Dila Gori (GEO)
Qarabağ FK (AZE) or FK Rudar Pljevlja (MNE)
HJK Helsinki (FIN) or FK Ventspils (LVA)
KF Skënderbeu (ALB) or Crusaders FC (NIR)
Lets be honest, most of the teams in that pot are more than beatable, it would be good to get an easy tie but I have a feeling we will end up with Lech Poznan
For Aberdeen:
6 PFC Cherno More Varna (BUL) or FC Dinamo Minsk (BLR)
7 FC Dacia Chisinau (MDA) or MŠK Žilina (SVK)
8 AEK Larnaca FC (CYP)
9 İstanbul Başakşehir (TUR)
10 FC Kairat Almaty (KAZ) or Alashkert FC (ARM)
I must admit, if Aberdeen can finish the job off next week then they have a decent chance against either of those teams
For ICT:
1 Atromitos FC (GRE)
2 Apollon Limassol FC (CYP) or FK Trakai (LTU)
3 FC Slovan Liberec (CZE)
4 West Ham United FC (ENG) or Birkirkara FC (MLT)
5 R. Standard de Liège (BEL)
6 Borussia Dortmund (GER)
Yeah ICT are flooked
A big week next week for the 3 teams next week though, lets hope we are all in the next round
NNH
Well done Aberdeen

Could be worse I suppose, we could have said it would be a blessing to stay in the Championship and not being promoted to the top league would be a bad thing
Fans eh

I blame the pitch and the police commander

Congrats to Aberdeen, they have been quite impressive in Europe in recent times, they beat Groningen last year as well and Rjieka are a team that on paper I think would be tough for even Celtic, with all our resources, to play.

Great result for Aberdeen last night, one more goal at home in the return fixture and that tie is definitely done.
Caley played some nice stuff last night, beat and tidy but absolutely no cutting edge, they were worse than us for creating chances.
We're also lucky not to concede another couple of sloppy goals but they more than held their own and might fluke an upset over there.
