An all mexican showdown that has been in the works for a while. Both guys have had less than kind words to say about each other and on the 29th August they will get the opportunity to settle those differences in the ring.
This isn't an official prediction article so I won't go in depth yet but I side slightly with Santa Cruz in this fight. It is still a very close fight and a difficult one to call,but for me Santa Cruz stylistically will cause Mares problems. Mares has the bigger punch but Cruz has a chin and I have this fight going the distance and being decided on the scorecards. With that said, I'd favour Cruz because of his busy style and the amount of punches he throws.
Ever since his KO loss, Mares has been taking the easy fights and Cruz has ducked the big boys in the 122 division so to finally see him in there with a legitimate opponent is pleasing. Either way, this promises to be a good fight.

Cruz won't fight frampton, he'll face Quigg, who's a bang average fighter, the only reason quigg's any way successful is because he's so stupid that punches don't hurt him

Mares hasn't looked his old self but he's much better than LSC, I got him by comfortable UD

Mares I think has lost a step and LSC (although average boxer) throws a lot of punches could trouble a fading mares, LSC reminds me of margaritto a bit with his style
