Matchday threads

Alright, I admit it, I'm getting excited about the coming season.

Shall we get in early and arrange the first four matchday threads?

I'm bagging the first match and Yorkshire derby, it's a Yorkshire derby in my eyes anyway!

HULL CITY - The Sky Bet Championship - Sat 8 August (LV69)

NOTTS COUNTY - Capital One Cup - Tue 11 August (UTG)

BLACKBURN - The Sky Bet Championship - Sat 15 August (WHETHERS)

BRIGHTON - The Sky Bet Championship - Tue 18 August

Currently 1-1 at Barnsley. A dodgy Demsey pass back gifted Barnsley an equaliser. Didn't he do the same the other night?

2-1 Barnsley.

Good for you Utg. We'll probably get something from that match too. The last time I went there we got chased away. Horrible place. I was only a kid.

I've heard a rumour that Mr Powell is still experimenting with formations and is contemplating 9-1, apparently he is so desperate for a clean sheet! 😉

Actually, that may not be so far from reality next weekend, don't expect an attacking game from the Terriers UTG.

I had a look on DATM yesterday and the old nugget of friendly matches reared its head. They matter, they don't matter. Of course they matter, what would be the point of playing them? It's a time to experiment, to test players, try tactics. Going in to a new season without a win in five matches does not bode well. The excitement from those last few transfers has vanished, it could be Bournemouth all over again. As we all know, the following three league matches are tough too. I'd hate to see Town anchored to the bottom of the Championship so early on.

No compensation for town fans that went to the Blackpool debacle!

Instead the fa fine Blackpool £50k! Ironically that was the amount for the away gate revenue town were trying to get back for fans!

Well done F. A
