Jerome Thomas

Jerome Thomas definitely involved to some degree in tonight's friendly behind closed doors.

No official team sheet was produced although I've had it confirmed several trailists were involved including Jerome Thomas.

Strong suggestions of Ryan Taylor as well.

Apparently seems like Thomas is to be offered 12 month deal on pay as you play deal due to poor injury problems.

can see the logic behind it but think he's well and truly done tbh. No lose situation I suppose if it's pay as play but if this is our only winger to sign then I worry about our goal scoring chances this year. If Thomas was signed purely because he was available and wil provide good cover and competition for another marquee winger signing then I could live with that. But my gut tells me we'll be disappointed.

Most wide players look ok for Leeds but thats because you are comparing them to the square peg that had been filling in for them. Even Jimmy Kebe looked useful at times. Its so exciting when you have a player that can go past an opposition full-back that one tends to get carried away with a player like Jerome Thomas.
The reality is that he is now 32, had a lot of injuries, will have lost some pace and is a huge IF. Not going to make a big difference by signing him.

Clearly poor source for the Taylor link.

Thomas seems a cert.

Think he'll definitely sign but once again is not the answer.

So far my prediction would be 13th at best.

Will reserve judgement until September 1st but by sounds of it were skint with no creative threat and a defence that leaks more than me on a Sunday morning after multiple pints of Sam Smiths.

Hearing from a source that a deal for Thomas on pay as you play is unlikely as he's heard Cellino can be a sneaky ******* when it comes to getting out of paying money. His agent said; "Looking at the Antenucci situation last season where he was strongly rumoured to not be playing due to Cellino's orders to get out of a contract extension/goal bonus and the situation looks bleak, for our Jerome. While oversights dp occur due to Cellino being a busy boy e.g. the Montenegro situation, it would be a hell of a risk to rejoin the whites."

Sir Ken

I hope your source is right.

I'd prefer a foreign import, a young raw talent from a lower league or probably even Mo from the Roly Poly's before Thomas.

He's past it, he's a crock and we can do better for the money.

What I would say is the agent sounds as though he's making excuses for us not wanting him. I can't see Cellino even entertaining this lad.

A mate of mine played with him and when he signed for us he said he will be a world beater one game then no good for the next four, then injured which was about right, no thanks.

SKB, inevitable that would happen at some point but maybe a good thing for Leeds United in this case.

Looked pretty good on loan a few years ago.

Shouldn't be going for 32 year old wingers who have barley played in 2 years.

Poor signing

fooking laughable if we resign this guy

anyone who thinks this is a good deal is quite frankly an idiot

Having seen his injury record, I'd say no actually.

Didn't realise it was quite that bad...
