Well, we are just around the corner to the kick off of a brand new season. The excitement of the signings of Davidson, Dempsey and Hiwula may have given way to a sense of dread, as Town's defence is continuing to creak...yet again!
Town take on Hull at the KC Stadium, freshly relegated from the Premiership, but a solid team non the less. It's a Yorkshire derby or is it? That debate will rage on for years! If Town come away with a point then then that would be a great result, taking in to account the poor pre season the lads having produced. Half time pitch invasion anyone?
Steve Bruce seems to attract his critics, did he do a good job at Town? Not in my opinion, he bought expensive has beens who didn't feel any pride in wearing the famous blue and white stripes. Another past defender who didn't always get things right in the Town defence, sounds familiar? However, if Mr Bruce and co think they just need to rock up and collect the points, then they may have a thing coming. Our Chris is a passionate football manager with pride, he knows the first month of the fixtures brings several challenges, so he may have constructed a cunning plan to outwit Mr Bruce.
Have we seen the final eleven that will shape the team to come? Is there room for Lolley? Will Smithies command the defence? Will Hiwula or Dempsey score on their debuts? Will we see a late purchase of a speedy central defender? Will Hudson be shipped out to Brighton, as rumoured? Will the good folk of Huddersfield get value for money at the food bars? So many questions that need answering!
I must admit, I was really excited a couple of weeks ago, now I think the season is starting too early for the lads! Mr Powell has to inject confidence and steely nerves in to the players. Come on lads, do us proud and go out there and get us a win! UTT!

What? Is the Football League Show not on this season? Jeez, they're running the BBC in to the ground aren't they? There'll be nothing left of it soon. Is the Championship footy on Channel 5 now? 🏃🏻💩

Once Miller is 100%, he'll either partner Wells or Hiwula. Vaughan is gone, Town have flimflammed enough on him, should have flogged him when he had that blip and has a good spell of fitness. It is sad, but Town need to off load him ASAP, even at a loss! Bring in another striker and a pacey CB and Town will be fine.
Now then, is Lolley another Vaughan? I am at a loss as to what happened in bringing him to Town. Did Town know he was a bit dodgy injury wise and took a gamble on him? He was taken players on and banging the goals in in the Conference league. Yet, when he signs for Town he can't run and his shins are fooked!
I think Davidson may end up like Skully, just going as far forward as the halfway line, because of the shaky defence. Mind you Skully used to wind me up. Every time a ball came towards him, bang, he played it in to touch, that used to be the Arsenal way, because they were solid in defence, apart from him. I thought Powell would play 9-1.
Disappointed? No, I thought Hull would win. Scared? Yes, because Town played very defensively in the first half and still conceded a goal. Powell was restricted in the the team he wanted to put out yesterday. Scannell was not fit/injured on Thursday and Powell has plans to play him.
UTG, I read in the examiner that a midfielder gave the ball away for Hull's first goal. Was that the case?
Need a cup win on Tuesday to boost the confidence, because losing is a habit again. 😧😱😭🙈

Well, I'm wide awake and my new time to wake up is 4:30 am! My body clock is knackered!
As for the new programme on channel 5,it's crap. There's an annoying fella on it, Adam Virgo (ex Brighton defender) and Kelly Dalglish (or whatever she's called)
They showed Sheffield weds first, then straight after showed Sheffield United different Bloody leagues.

Just watched the goals again. Dean Whitehead appears to duck out of heading the ball for the second goal

I thought Davidson slipped to let them in for their first LV but who am I to disagree with The Examiner?
Hull are a strong team and I fully expect them to be challenging this season but I do think we should have attacked them from the off not waited till the second half. Is it just me but does anyone else think we look so much better as an attacking side?

Morning folks,
My take on the game...
Considering we were missing Vaughan,Scannell and even Pele Lolley I didn't think we played that badly, certainly no worse than I expected.
Positives
Defence looked pretty solid
2nd half we passed the ball around quite well and retained the ball well.
Looked better when Miller joined Wells up front.
Negatives
Manager went to play the containment game, which is fine until you're losing.
Wells struggled up front on his own(which despite some reports about Bunn he effectively was).
Tommy Smith had several nose bleeds after crossing the halfway line.
The fact we lose 2 key players in Vaughan and Scannell and end up being Hammill on, a player we are trying to get rid of highlights the overall weakness of the squad.
Like I say not a bad performance but not good either
