Not the best start to the league is it chaps, worst thing about it is we all knew this would happen due to the lack of options we have especially upfront. Soldado should not have been sold without an available replacement in the squad. Njie looks more like a winger who will add bags of pace and I hope the lad does well for us I really do. We are still lacking another CF and an experienced CDM. All of this should have been in place before our game against United. This is just typical Tottenham year in year out. The worrying thing for me is if we don't sign a striker this week we will be in the exact same situation come the weekend. I honestly don't see Berahino coming in this week, to be honest we probably wont even sign him. I just hope after Saturday Poch sat down with Levy and said this is what I need make it happen... anyway rant over hopefully Saturdays disappointing draw will make our tight chairman see we have holes in our team and do something about it.
P.S we really need to sell Lamela his value is decreasing by the second he actually offers nothing to the team what so ever.

We had to offload before we bought!
Simple economics really, we cannot afford (unlike some clubs) to have dozens of players on our books.
Chelsea for instance have 25 players out on loan.....................................and are probably paying most of their wages too.
Part of the problem has been shifting Ade, on !00k a week he is a major financial liability & that impacts on how much we cann afford to pay others coming in.
Yes it is frustrating, however I have been a Spurs supporter for 57 years, so I am used to frustration & false dawns!
Hopefully we will see a bit more movement over the next few days, at least I hope so!

There is business and there is business; Wimmer for example could've been done at any time in the window, late or early. A new striker however is essential business and essential business should be done in a timely fashion. I have no doubt the departures of Ade & Bobby were earmarked in May, so to go into the second game of the season with no back up for Kane is highly amateurish IMO. In fact I'd go as far as to say it cost us two points.
We appear to be laying down smart long term strategies off the pitch, yet on the pitch it's the same old last minute bargain basement nonsense. We've brought in a lot of youth with potential which is great, but it has to be integrated with a bit of experience and proven quality - that's what this squad is crying out for. There are no leaders, no experienced winners, and of course no back up for Kane. I'm not panicking as it's still early but we've left ourselves a lot if work to do on & off the pitch to get this season going, which was totally unnecessary.

I just do not understand the constant defence of poch. We can talk about transfer windows all day long but the same mistakes are happening on that pitch. He has had all summer with this team to teach them his ways yet we look exactly the same. Whats the deal.

isn;t it True Soldado asked for a transfer on the first day of pre-season?

what constant defence? there is anti poch stuff all over the board in pretty much every article you read.
however anyone wanting poch to be sacked is just silly. rip it all up and start again, and back to square one we go.

I agree with pretty much all of this.
the first half of our pre season was great. shifting deadwood, stadium announcement, couple of good early signings..... and then we faaacked it up with lack of signings we needed and a ridiculous pre season schedule.
all very spursy.

I expressed the same concerns before the season started but was told I was being too 'negative' by a certain poster. And voila, here we are 2 games into a season with only 1 point, and we still haven't brought in any back up striker.
