Fulham 1 v 1 Huddersfield Town

Saturday 22nd August

Craven Cottage

3pm Kick-Off

Well here we go again on our travels to watch the mighty Terriers take on the Craven Cottagers.

Fulham, like us, have not had the best of starts to the season, in fact they're below us in the table having only one point compared to our two

It's quite a while since I last visited Fulham (the season we sold Stewart to Ipswich. Still haven't forgiven Ayre and Rubery for that) and I missed the game down at their place last season as I had just been on my travels to Egypt, so am definitely going this time.

As I write this I have still no idea whether Smithies has gone to QPR or not so my guess is we'll probably start with the same team as Tuesday, unless Scannell is fit when I expect him to replace Bunn. I could be totally wrong though and find Powell has completely changed the team round.

I really think we played well in the second half on Tuesday so if we can replicate that form we should do okay against what seems to be a poor Fulham side. Please don't let me have put the kiss of death on us with that comment.

I know our old friend Ross McCormack plays for them but can't remember if I read somewhere that he's injured. Mind you the way my mind works at the moment I could have completely imagined that I've read it or it could just be wishful thinking.

I'm going to remain optimistic and say 3-1 to us.

Vaughan possibly going to Blackburn if Bowyer doesn't lose his job.

From those highlights, how influential is Butterfield?!

Say I'm a glutton for punishment, but I've watched the full ninety nine minutes of the Fulham match.

Jeez, if I was CP, I'd drop Hogg and Whitehead, woeful passing from Hogg and Whitehead didn't get close enough to players for my liking. Whitehead is slow and made several late tackles, he also just makes easy two yard passes. What do either players bring to the team? Really disappointed in those two. Yes, the rest of the team didn't play well, apart from Butterfield and Scannell.

Town became too negative after taking the lead and they were looking for free kicks and the corner flags. Playing to the flags is all good and well, but you have to be able to do it. Miller, who I do like, got to the flags only to kick the ball through the legs of the defenders. He may of tried getting a corner, but he failed.

For me, if you have the lead, yes, try and retain possession, but by passing and moving the ball in to the defensive areas of the opposition. Make tracks towards their goal too, you never know, you may get a second goal.

If CP's tactics are in the style of the Italian league football, then he needs to change them. That match was so boring, just like Italian football.

The lads in defence, especially Smith hoofed the ball out of play with little pressure, why? Build from the back lads!

Wells needs dropping too, he can't seem to play alongside any other forward. He's an opportunist striker and a loner. Yes, he scored, but he did nothing else to contribute.

CP needs to reshuffle the pack and change tact, like playing attack minded football, it's the best form of defence!

For those like minded folk who require the misfortune of watching that sheite performance, here you go, fill yah boots.

Crazy isn't it... Listening to Oggi on radio L**ds tonight, he thinks Butterfield is as far down the road as personal terms with Derby... Let's hope we have players lined up.... You never know... It could make or season...
Or break it..

I hope he doesn't go but he probably will. Just hope we have enough time to bring a replacement in.
