No wonder

Absolutely no wonder we can't figure out the FFP rules, the FA can't even explain how the 'new' offside rule works. After the latest change they have admitted that the Liverpool winning goal against. Bournemouth on Monday should not have stood, as it infringes the 'new' rule. If they can't even implement a simple rule, what chance have we of ever understanding the ever changing FFP rule. A multi billion pound game run by idiots.

If its so clear and esay to understand how did it get so badly screwed up. The rule as it originally stood was perfectly adequate. I stand by my original statement, run by idiots.

because the linesman made a balls up, like all officials do on occasion

I see Man City have now spent 155m this transfer window. Re-couped about 20m I think.

Football the new class system. Upper class and plebs required only.

The interpretation of the new rule is that 'if a player in an offside position makes an attempt to play the ball, for example if he is in the goalkeepers line of sight, even if he doesn't touch the ball he is deemed to be interfering with play' I am sure there are on e or two more intracacies but that appears to be the gist of it.
I still prefer, offside. Is offside, two defenders between the ball and goal line, simples.😆😆

Too true, try being a linesman for your son's football team and enjoy the subsequent abuse from the other team's parents who simply don't understand the rules! 😡

The more they try to "improve" the rules, the harder it becomes for the officials and they kop a load of flack from the media and fans. Who'd be a ref?

Guys I ran junior football teams as manager/ref/linesman for many years and agree entirely with your sentiments. Very seldom was the grief from the opposing teams, it was nearly always the parents. Changing the rule s constantly helps no one and just causes confusion. 😡
