With only a few days until the transfer window closes and rumours about any signings we might make being few and far between, I think we need to face the fact that Cech may be all we get this transfer window.
How will you feel if we don't get anyone else?
Can we win the league with what we have?
Does it cast a doubt on the future of Wenger?
My view is we should be getting players early so they can have preseason with the rest of the team and hit the start of the season running. Not addressing what I consider the two key positions (a first choice cf and a dm as either back up to Coq or to take over as first choice) before the beginning of the season is a failure on the part of Wenger and the club. Not signing anyone for these roles in this transfer window would be unforgivable and would show that the club have no real aspirations of winning the league.

so true, i honestly believe our clubs ambition is finishing higher than Spurs. Thats all. We do nothing in the champions league waste of time, basically we are just a nuisance team in that competition, we aint a threat. League is almost always over for us before Septembers end. You cant expect to win major titles i.e league & champions league by spending 10m on a gk. Look at City top & playing brilliantly buying kdb for 54m. Even Chelsea not playing well atm are buying Pedro, Bab & soon enough Stokes & Pogba. Whilst Arsenal sitting on hands waiting for nothing even Irramiendi could have been a signing for us, but nope.

Total waste of a summer.
Really happy we got Cech, although I'm far more worried about going into the season with Coq as our only recognised DM and le Donkey as our CF than i would have been with Ospina as first choice GK.
Doesn't effect Wenger's position as he's unsackable as long as he gets the money from the CL because that's all that matters to the owner.
Fans should boycott games as this summers lack of spending means they are paying the highest ticket prices for no other reason than making money for billionaires.

I suspected Wenger may not sign anyone at the beginning of the summer. In my opinion it would be a clear indication that he is intending to retire. Next season would be his last so Arsenal would need to bring in his replacement in the summer of 2016 rather than going into 2016/2017 as a lame duck. Even Fergie lost the dressing room when he announced his retirement the season before so I don't expect anything official. Just a lack of spending. Keep in mind Carpetright Harris stated clearly that there is 100m+ in bank for transfers.

Anyone who Godfather doesn't agree with is an idiot, because how dare anyone question the club or the manager.
I'll ask him yet another question (which won't be answered), do you honestly think only signing Cech is enough to turn us from also rans overall in the league into potential champions? It's all well and good going on about bad form and good form, but over the course of 38 games we always finish 3rd or 4th anyway.

its this simple, Arsenal finished miles behind Chelsea in real terms, Chelsea then go out and buy and continue to try and buy players in key areas....
Arsenal think that despite finishing so far behind, we only need a new GK.
