'Team Jak' collection on Saturday

Some of you will be aware of Jak’s story, many of you will not. Jak was a young Rangers supporter. Aged only 15, Jak was diagnosed with Leukaemia but further tests showed it to be something worse, a very aggressive cancer called Gama Delta TCell lymphoma. Sadly, in February of this year, Jak lost the battle against that killer.

Jak has passed and his suffering is no more but his family, his sister, had to live the fight with him and have to live with the loss now that he has gone. The diagnosis, the battle against the cancer, and in the end the knowing that Jak’s journey was to end prematurely; took a huge toll on the family. During these difficult times Jak’s family was strong, their support network of friends hugely supportive, and as a positive legacy to Jak’s life they want to make sure that other families, going through the same trauma, have as much support as they can. Only others who have been on similar Journeys can really understand what the family went through, the rest of us can only hope we never have to find that out.

In Jaks memory, his family and friends have set up a charity, ‘Team Jak’, to provide support for other families, and siblings that have to live through the illness of a loved ones. This Saturday you can help them, help others. The club have given ‘Team Jak’ permission to hold a bucket collection in the stadium. A small, simple donation will never take away Jak’s family’s pain, but it may just help lessen someone else’s.

NOTE THIS IS AN OFFICIAL COLLECTION AND WILL ONLY BE INSIDE THE STADIUM.
