Jonny Evans, he has had an outstanding start to the season and is obviously an integral part of SAF's defence..........................
I predict Evans to mature over the next few seasons into one of the best defenders in Europe.......................
Unfortunately Evans team-mate, Northern Ireland born Darron Gibson, from Londonderry, has failed to even make the subs bench this season, lets hope Darron's season improves..................
Good To See SAF Has Kept Faith In...

Actually Hosed i was back at school , taking my son and daughter there this week as a matter of fact. Thanks for asking .
So your telling me just because O'Shea has played in Champions League finals hes a better footballer than JE? Great logic there. That must make him a better player than Cannavaro or Sergio Ramos , they haven't played in one either.
Im not saying O'Shea isnt a useful player , hes not even a bad player but i think Evans is a better player with more potential. But it doesnt matter as Rio and Vidic are gonna get picked every time anyway.
Being a captain doesn't really mean your the best footballer on the pitch Hosed ffs. Look at John Terry , certainly not the most gifted footballer at Chelsea , but he has leadership qualities. Maybe O'Shea has better leadership qualities than JE , who knows but doesnt make him better at the game. Also being versatile doesnt make you better either , again by your logic , Phil Neville was more versatile than his brother Gary. Was he a better defender? Not in my book.
And first of all , dont come off with the keek that you have great football knowledge mate , i think your getting blinded due to the fact that JE plays for NI. If he played for the ROI you wouldnt give him the same criticism as you are here.
As for the homework jibe , thats a cracker. The old ones are the best eh?

Alex dude, Ramos was a bad player to use for your comparison. He's a headbanger. Although I agree with some of your points.

Evans is vastly overrated. He is clumsy and an accident waiting to happen.
He is only in the Man Utd side due to injuries in the United back 4. He will be back in the reserves as soon as United have a fully fit side again.
Brown and O'Shea were sold to Sunderland as well to help cut Uniteds wage bill. Everyone knows that

Alex as I posted earlier if he was called Sean Evans Hosed would love him as a player.........................

I know Ramos wasnt the best comparison (nut-case lol) but hes still streets ahead of O'Shea. Only used him because he has never played in a champs league final.
@Buddy
I know he wouldnt get a place in front of Vidic and Ferdinand , not many would to be honest.
Brown and O'Shea werent good enough for Man United anymore , they were never gonna hold down a place anymore and basically were not going to get any better. They wanted first team football (who wouldnt?) and Sunderland were able to provide that.

Alex, firstly on the homework jibe I believe it was fairly valid after your sober up comment...or is it only fun when giving it?
What has Cannavaro and Ramos got to do with this debate? We are discussing JE and JO'S who both played for Utd when O'Shea was selected for the CL while poor wee Jonny didn't make the bench?
The captain reference was also a Sunderland thing as both players have played for this team.
Muddy the waters, change the goalposts, bring all the examples you want but O'Shea is and will always be a better player than Jonny Evans.

1st of all Hosed , Evans was on "LOAN" as a 19-20 year old who was shipped out by Ferguson to gain more Premiership experience. Now tell me , since your knowledge of football is fantastic (sniff) , do you know of any young loan players who have been made captain of the team they have been loaned to?
I wait with anticipation....
The reference to Cannavaro and Ramos was due to the fact you said O'Shea is a better player because he has played in a Champions League final. Im thinking O'Shea was selected BECAUSE he is a more versatile player (who can also play in midfield if needs be) , that doesnt make him a better player.
Im not going to change the goalposts or muddy the water or whatever cliche you decide to call it. I accept its your opinion , i wont lose sleep over it
Whats next , Aiden McGeady is better than George Best??

Both Cannavaro and Ramos would start before the 2 Irishmen we are discussing. As would a host of other players who havent won the champions league.
My Captain reference was to show how O'Shea is thought of by another Utd legend?
The McGeady comment is another childish attempt to further this debate.
Evans, good in the air, strong and has potential. He's playing on the best british team behing Vidic, Rio, Smalling and Jones. He's had a few nightmares for Utd but so far this season he's filled in well and looks like the player he was thought to have been.
O'Shea came on the scene in 2000 and played for 10 years for United. Was outstanding in his first full season playing left back. He played all back 4 positions and midfield too.
The problem with discussing who is the better player is that its so subjective? I think O'Shea is better and you think Evans. Either way there is not much difference but trust me my opinion is not based on political reasons.

McGeady comment was a bit of sarcasm Hosed , something like your homework one
Ok ok, we arent going to agree on who is the better player, no hard feelings , lets move on eh
