OTEP's Predictor League - Crewe

No correct score predictions yesterday which is no surprise as I think none of us saw that coming, even if Frank Ashton and I were miserable enough to predict defeat.

So what to do for Tuesday? Well I've been looking for clues in my stats and if we go for the eleven that have the best points per time on the pitch records we might see a few changes. On the basis of my records my starting XI would be: Matthews; Edwards, Mousinho, Cansdell-Sherriff, McCrory; Akins, Weir, Naylor, Duffy;Beavon, Joachim.

Any other offers?

Jimmy's had a great eleven months with a winning team so a new test this week. But one I think he is up to. Brewers to bounce back in style. 3-0.

I admire your optimism, Steve. However, I can't see us ending our miserly goal-scoring record just yet, so I will go for a nervy 1 - 0 victory to the Brewers.

last win against southend was lucky did not play well and it has just got worse. Will go for a 1-0 to the Albion

We need something from this game. The Brewers have been on a high for over a year and the party had to end at some point. JFH has only seen good times at the Club, for me this is the time when we see the true measure of our manager. I think the man is honest enough and mentally strong enough to pull us through this sticky patch in form.
Beavon up front working is socks off, but on his own sounds very familiar to me, ie , Billy Kee.
Teams have worked us out and put 2 or 3 on our lone striker, job done.
This part of our game needs to be sorted out.
We seem to make chances, but our finishing is dire.

I think we already have the team to sort this out, but it's down to JFH to work this one out.

I want a win, but it's got a draw written all over it.

Despite their position Crewe have been a bit better recently and are due a draw.

Biggest test of the season tonight, and for Jimmy. He will have learned more about his players and tactics from the last two matches than he would have done from a run of 3 or 4 nil wins.
I take no pleasure from predicting defeats but we still have no more clues as to where goals are coming from with such poor service to Stuart Beavon.
I predict a very nervy match.

Brewers 0 Crewe 1

A 2.0 win for the Brewers will do me fine.

I'd like to think that we'll bounce back and win in grand style. I think however, we'll have a hard fought battle on our hands and might just scrape a win:

Albion 1 Crewe 0

If my memory serves me right, weren't we going through a bit of a bad patch this time last year, just before Jimmy became manager?
