Decent article from the ever reliable Seat Pitch. Good points on the commercial side of things at the CG in particular.
Food for thought

Finally we agree on something. Sacking SOD was a big mistake. Yes he had a hard task, but a task he made impossible by sacking manager after manager and backroom staff member after backroom staff member and having to pay off all their contracts, add well as giving huge wages to all whole host of players we barely used. Some of which we are still paying. If you can't see all of that, there is no reasoning with you.
I don't doubt he had a hard task, but it's still a task he managed terribly.

You mention Warnock and you have a point, also McCarthy was approach after Cotterill went. But both of these turned us down for similar reasons
I am sure running the club day to day has been difficult and we have needed to spend at times. The thing is a lot of other clubs on a smaller income than us manage it. Things may have been easier if we had an experience CEO to help. Post Billy Davies, we had one for just a few months and haven't had one since. Closest we've got a temporary/part time advisor who and a football co-ordinator. The later having walked only a few months in the job.
It's quite easy to look at these things and say that there seems to be something there that is making life more difficult, when it's difficult enough anyway

In my opinion, it's his ego that is the main issue. He's so determined to be the one that gets the credit and is seen as a hero that it makes him unwilling to get the necessary help to do the job properly.
And let's be honest, anyone who frames a photoshopped image of themselves sitting with cloughie and puts it on the wall has a serious ego problem.

Nail on the head, SHH. Anyone with a bit of nous would have taken stock after a year in charge and realised they'd made a hash of things and would've sought out someone with experience of things. The fact that the Al Hasawi's didn't allow this process to happen shows they aren't willing to learn from mistakes and, unfortunately, will probably repeat them.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing Cousin if you use it proactively to prevent future actions having a similar result.

Could well be, funny thing is that he'd get more of that if the club was well run and moving forwards. Without a lot of the hassle

Exactly. When he came we all thought he would be our saviour, and with the money he has pumped in he could've been. If he'd spent it wisely instead of wasting so much.

Cousin Omar has his head in the sand.
Fawaz was never interested in 'stabilising the club', he wanted instant success and thought that he could buy it. To be fair a lot of clubs have done that by spending vastly more than they earned. QPR and Leicester City are two clubs that come to mind here and there are more if we go further back in time.
There are of course other clubs that Fawaz could have taken note of and how they went about gaining promotion to the promised land of fabulous wealth. They are Swansea, Reading and Bournmouth.
It might have worked out if Fawaz hadn't made it so obvious that he was going to interfere in the managers decisions. The two Algerians were obviously not Billy buys and very expensive mistakes to boot.
I suspect that the 'New Fawaz' has been brought about by FFP, also that it has dawned on him that he is sat parked next to a dead end, with a possible left turn only traffic filter in front of him.
Let us all hope that he gradually starts to listen and learn for all our sakes.
