Show some Patience

David Moyes took a championship winning team and achieved seventh place. Isn't this what Mourinho looks like doing at Chelsea.

The knee-jerk, short term response of the so-called "fans", on here, makes me smile.

LVG has always said it would take three years for the team to win anything. We're only half way there.
No-one was going to be able to replicate the success the team achieved under SAF. That was a once in a lifetime occurrence that cannot be expected to continue for ever.
Yes, the football, so far, has been pretty dull, but that is the price of stabilizing the defence. Recently, we've been showing a little more flair but (not helped by all the defensive injuries) we're leaking goals again.
Let's keep a sense of perspective, here. Last week, Bournemouth beat Chelsea, at Chelsea. Wolfsberg are second in the Bundesliga. Last week, we drew with West Ham, who had already beaten Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool, away.

We don't display attacking verve, because Giggs has retired and Ronaldo is no longer with us. Plus we do not have the players capable of the speed of thought and action that would recapture the "glory" days. This type of player is few and far between, and either doesn't want to join us, or won't be sold by their clubs.
On the positive side LVG has bloodied more young players, pro-rata, than SAF ever did, and, on the whole, they have not let him down.
If it's obvious to armchair fans and pundits what is wrong with the team, do you honestly think LVG isn't aware of the need for more attacking flair, chances created and goals scored. Maybe, come January, an attempt will be made to improve things. Until then, the team will just have to do the best it can with the resources available. Personally, I hope for Rooney to find his form, again, and for the day when Mata uses his undoubted quality and experience to dominate matches.

I know I am expecting a lot for those who have only been "supporters" since the heady days of the 1990's, to show a little patience, but success will return. Whether it is under LVG, Giggs, Guardiola, Ancellotti or even Neville (or someone else?) only time will tell.

For now though, stop carping, start supporting and give LVG and the team a chance.

Half way through his contract and we've regressed if anything. That's without even accounting for our rotten style of play. Patience is one thing, but you need to actually see signs of progression. I don't

Hate to say it but with City it's just their mindset although when the spine of their team are all out it will seriously diminish them. But they are well well ahead of us in terms of the way they play and the ability of their players. We should have been in for KDB, it was a no-brainer. Even Sterling I would argue.

Anyway it's a good post by the op and a fair argument for showing patience but we all know there is not much of that in the game by chairmen, directors, media nor the fans.
For me lest see how it pans out until the summer unless we go on a disastrous run now. But it all depends on who the choice of next manager is next and are they available. I still think Pep is the choice, since the days SAF visited him in NYC !

We have plenty of number 10s so don't think KDB was a no brainer. Needed pace

If you have seen him play since he was a youth international and I have it's a no-brainer.
He is better than anything we have. Like all our no.10s tried have created a plethora of chances hey?!!
He is up there with Ozil as best creator, the difference being he also scores a lot of goals himself and is quick too !

But will are fans happy to wait until summer and probably (the way things are going) forefit a top 4 place and CL spot for next season in order to keep LVG in his very well paid job, until he decides to walk away of his own accord.

Begs the question, why?

Some spent more and are not ahead of Utd by a distance

I thought only City spent more in the summer transfer window. Can someone confirm this.

The LVG fan girl will deny this.

Spurs aren't great. But I've been fighting against the tide when daring to criticise them.

16 games. 6 wins. Spurs really aren't all that great

Deny what exactly?

There's no denying that LVG is not getting the job done. He achieved the absolute minimum expectation last season (top 4 and embarrass yourselves in the cups). This year it's been worse.

Forget calling people fan girls etc as it makes it childish and kind of takes away from the gravity of the situation. I do genuinely think that if LVG was sacked tomorrow, even his staunchest fan would be unable to say he was unfortunate. The unfortunate ones are those who have to watch us play under him
