So Roman has decided to offer Pep the world

To choose Chelsea ahead of City?
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/pep-guardiola-to-chelsea-roman-abramovich-ready-to-beat-manchester-city-offer-to-land-manager-a6782571.html

A lot of people may think Pep for City is a for gone conclusion but the lure of London is something that is often underestimated. The funny thing is Roman actually wants the manager most chelsea fans loathe as he is pretty much the anti Jose.

Then on the other hand you have chelsea fans crossing fingers and toes hoping that Jose does not join united.

Then you have a divided united camp, where the desperate ones are so eager to appoint Jose despite the management flaws he has shown in his last 4 years of management never mind his behaviour. Then you have the more patient conservative base led by Sir Bobby Charlton who think Mourinho is not a good fit for the club football and personality wise.

Then you have Arsenal whose long serving manager enters the final year of his contract next summer. No signs of a succession plan or him leaving at all.Almost convinced he will renew his contract.

The biggest winners in all this are Liverpool who decided to pull the trigger midseason when they realised they risked losing Klopp to all these elite teams once they started struggling.

12 months ago Mourinho extended his contract, was predicted to create a dynasty at chelsea and win most of the next league titles.LVG was settled.Only pellegrini had a cloud over his head.

Now Liverpool have changed their manager, chelsea aswell and united will probably follow suit. With Ancelotti going to Bayern it almost looks like there is a scramble for the top managers.

In a world where part of the Spurs fan base still think pochettin is not good enough or Everton fans who would rather have Moyes back and martinez sacked you often worry for the future of the game.

I saw this article from our old friend Obers that made me chuckle

I would love Pep to replace Wenger as I think he is by far the best manager in the world, not in terms of winning trophies but nurturing young players and bringing the best out of players.Even in his time at Bayern where he gets unwarranted abuse he has done wonders with players like Alaba, Boateng, Costa and Muller.

Either way maybe Wenger extending his contract in the near future may not be the worst thing.

Wenger started it.

united are by the way close to finishing 3 seasons without a trophy.Amazing stuff.

A slight leap there, given that we are yet to kick a ball in two competitions, but I see your point.

I don't give a toss if Jose goes to Utd
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He will fail if he does. The EPL is soured for him now and he'll never achieve what ha has previously. His attitude stinks so much worse than ever before. Despite everything, first time around Jose was likeable as long as you weren't name Arsene. We brits are a funny lot. There's only so long we'll put up with somebody we don't like, acting a complete duche. I think Jose has gone too far and I see this losing following him if he stays in the EPL. Currently, no side in this league (players and team staff) will want to work for "That feckin moany"

Also I'm sure that the players moreso than anyone else, know that Jose can't actually MANAGE a dam thing and just exiles careers and spends money (putting each and every one of them at risk if he comes). He's been found out. Why would anyone want to be managed by the man who couldn't even keep the champions out of the relegation zone. He needs to go back abroad somewhere and win something. If he stays here, he's looking at another season of pain
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jose can't manage a damn thing
That's why he's always managed the big clubs and why arguably the biggest club in world football are after him right now.
Still, you know best!

admittedly I typed that with gritted teeth but the fact that it could possibly happen is quite astonishing for a club of uniteds stature

I'd probably rank Hiddink a bit higher on the list tbh. He's shown he can still lure one of the biggest clubs in the world and has the trust of the most demanding owner.

Jose has got every chairman and owner think twice about their manager and whether it's best to get rid and appoint a manager who has had success wherever he's been. Roma, United and Real Madrid being the main examples.

So those two are probably the stand outs since I last wrote the list. Pep as well but for me he is still unproven outside of a club which is by far the best in the country.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Barca finished with 67 points the year before Pep took over (which is probably roughly going to be our tally this season) finishing 10 points behind Villareal and 20 behind Madrid.

Barca weren't by far the best in the country when Pep took over, yes Bayern were but he took over a treble winning team and kept them winning, people think that is easy, it ain't, look at Rafa at Inter.

Mr Murinho

If Jose could MANAGE players, he wouldn't have gotten sacked from the same job twice after failing miserably to do so. He only seems to be able to manage, with an unending cash supply. Problem in squad, buy someone. Player not playing well, kick him to the curb and buy someone. Got promising youth, throw them away and buy someone. I don't know what you call that but it's not what I call management. MANAGERS shuffle the squad to get the best from it. They rejuvenate/motivate players in a bad patch. They turn promising youth into established 1st team talent. The term "Manager" shouldn't actually be applied to Jose since it isn't what he does. Hence Chelsea where they were.

Also, for such a supposed "Great" manager, he's lost an awful lot of dressing rooms. What's that 3 now and he managed to lose the Chelsea on twice
