Despite sending a colossal amount of money since his appointment, we still find ourselves with a back four which can only be described as 'dodgy' if we try and cut lose and play an attacking game, where we remove some of the midfield 'protection for that back 4; a midfield bereft of any pace and tempo whatsoever; and again despite that money spent, I can't name one United player i would call a 'match winner'. Compare the other sides who traditionally would be classed as our direct competitors and they all have what i would call 'match winners' and so there is little wonder we find ourselves where we are!!
LVG and the board need to look at themselves as the recruitment of players has been poor generally.
I'm not convinced about Mourinho - classless individual - but the club needs an injection of passion and urgency, as we are now in the same mind-set and rut as we were with Moyes. Dark days.

Not sure why everyone is blaming the board. Does anybody really doubt that LVG has built this squad? Does anybody doubt that he's had financial backing? Then the only reason to criticise the board is for criticising him and for not having relieved him of his duties. I certainly do apportion blame to him for the latter, as leaving him in charge for these Christmas period games was stupid in the extreme. We had no chance of getting results

Trying to fill Utd with expensive all stars I think was doomed to fail from the start. Also it's hard enough to get to the top but staying there is harder. You had enormous success with a man who was with you what, 27 years and often after a spell like that there is a quick succession of coaches before one settles in on a more permanent basis.
You know, I think you only have to win one to set you going again.
