Article on David Wagner

Saw this on the DATM site, interesting read.

Now, this may end up on the AFC Telford page too, there's an issue selecting teams via mi iPhone! If it is on AFC Telford's site, it's still worth a read. 👍

Yes, We need to hang onto this guy at all costs.
He's very ambitious. If as a club we start to do well, How we will hold onto him I'll never know, Money talks.

Two stand out things that provoked me.
a). Town now around the "45 years in the lower leagues" time frame .. I knew it,
But still a "" moment.
(Lived right through ALL of it )

b) It went onto say. "he's already in a position where he might find himself landing a really big job in the near future.” !

Relates to my opening comment, I just hope the club intent is to be determined to keep him at Town, should a concerted effort be put in by another club wanting to tempt him away. That will depend on Herr Olive Oil's long term $trategy.

Big what if, but, what if Wagner got Town promoted? He may want to see his project through. He's seem a straight up, genuine guy.

It's all ifs and buts, but, yeah but, no but, he may well surprise some fans and not go for big bucks.

Yeah good read that lv

I dont think greedy league clubs would be interested in wagners style of management tbh...i mean actually developing so-called average players and giving them belief and working to a tight budget....no chance! They want it all and they want it now!

Something specials happening at our club and he can achieve his goals here at town....swansea int top division yet when we played em at wembley int mickey mouse cup they brought 17 k while town took 30 k....we have a history second to non and a higher record attendance than them down the road....the giants awakening!

Greetings and salutations one and all....

Thats a good article on DW.

SInce the departure of CP, it has definitely taken a few weeks of hard graft, constant training and probably a lot of 'arm around shoulders' encouragement to the changes in how we play, or how DW wants us to play.

from the get go when i went to Sheff Weds you could see what he was trying to do and ok it was good for 70 mins or so.
Since that game i think the squad has come on leaps and bounds.
The way he talks and the way he has instilled this recent mentality into them you can clearly see that there is no hiding place for anyone of the starting eleven.
He isn't afraid of making that half time substitution if someone is 'off it'
He speaks openly about players giving their all in training and that their attitude in training can decide if they play in the starting eleven, are on the bench or if they are left out completely.

I think that was one of the deciding factors of James Vaughan going to Birmingham - not only because he was out of sorts and didnt seem interested in playing for Town, but because it will have been identified that his fitness levels are simply not up to the new way of training / playing.
I dont want to be a nayslayer, but i dont foresee JV being in Town colours come 1st February.
Contradicting myself here, but I hope i am wrong, he is goal scorer, but he needs his head on straight and his fitness levels up!

One thing i do know - through talking to other towns in recent weeks, we are excited about the style of football we are playing, we are excited with the pass, move, close down and excited about the commitment being shown by the players.

The atmosphere at Bolton after the match leaving the stadium was simply UNBELIEVABLE, you would have thought in that one game we had won the league. (Maybe a slight exaggeration!!)
But If the players continue to show and give the passion, like the manager did at the final whistle then we the fans will match if not beat that passion from the stands.
Ladies and gentleman, its simply this................
THE BUZZ IS BACK !

Three home games on the bounce now

Reading in the Cup Saturday
Charlton in the league Tuesday
Fulham in the league Saturday

Without harping back to darker days (old trafford) never has a free t-shirt still hanging in wardrobe been more meaningful.... I BELIEVE !

Just ordering my tickets for Preston now! UTT!

Also Mr Wagner has come out with all the usual stuff about transfers in Jan, right player - limited funds - may take time even the next window etc etc BUT (and you will notice it is a BIG but) I actually believe him whereas I didn't have this confidence in any of the previous managers I can remember.
I am actually willing to give this guy time and as expressed by others I only hope we can keep him, after all to date he is doing better than his mate Mr Klopp ! Oh and can we have some up and coming superstars Mr Klopp - pretty please ???
