Quick analysis

Ok, a quick analysis after 26 games and compared against the previous 3 seasons since Fawaz bought the club

-This is actually the worst points total we have had
-The lowest position in the league we have had

YET we seem to be improving under Dougie, the squad is more balanced, and if Assombalonga was not injured I am sure we would be much better off position and points wise. We also have the likes of Walker, O Burke and Grant coming through as a bonus

HOWEVER, if we don’t start converting these draws into wins then without doubt we are going to get sucked into the relegation battle

2015-2016
Position 14th
Points 32
Points per game 1.23
Manager – Freedman
Projected final points total 57

2014-2015
Position 12th
Points 34
Points per game 1.31
Manager – Pearce
Final Position 14th
Final points 59

2013-2014
Position 5th
Points 44
Points per game 1.69
Manager – Davies
Final position 11th
Final points 65

2012-2013
Position 11th
Points 37
Points per game 1.42
Manager – O Driscoll / McLeish
Final position 8th
Final points 67

Dour Len's back.

Criticise whilst offering no alternative is simple to write and boring to read.

We are competitive and very hard to beat, that has been a conscious decision by DF; it's clear in the way we sat up and the style. Before this change we were all bemoaning the fact we were playing really good football, but losing. Mainly down to the fact our record breaking striker is injured.
So if you can't score from playing expansive football, what are the alternatives for getting points? The main one is not concede goals. This is now sorted. We concede very few goals.
Dougie has shown that we are capable of playing both styles of football but this is seen as the best way to get points at the moment.
Apathy is rife, I agree but apathy is better than anger towards the staff because we are dropping down the league.
There is definitely light at the end. We have shipped out the high-earning, poor-performing players and replaced them with either free or loans which have improved us and cut the wage bill.

Suck it up Len, we are where we are financially because idiot fans call for managers heads evert farts end.

Strett, for me Dougie started with an approach that was to counter attack quickly, grab goals and do some pretty back to the wall defending. Possession back then was also something that we didn't have the lion share of, remember the AFCB game?

We then tried to be more positive, create a shed load of chances (quite a few being outside the box) but was losing a fair amount.

There has to be some middle ground.

Base it on the current approach, but don't drop so deep after about 60 minutes maybe. Close down a little further forward etc. The thing that irks some fans is that a few teams have appeared to be there for the taking but we've shut up shop somewhat. I can sort of of see why he reverted back, but against teams around and below us, we need to be more positive.

Hopefully DF has a plan C up his sleeve

I don't really agree with that, although some fans are overly negative and quick to want change, Len being towards the worse end of that

Take our managers....

* Cotterill - sacked before fans had chance to get head around take over
* SOD - I don't think many were calling for him
* McLeish - something went on behind the scenes there, he was talking of walking a couple of weeks before being sacked
* Davies - understandable
* Pearce - some fans were calling for him gone from November! I sort of could see it coming when it happened though

The reason we are in this position is we've really not got a plan, organisation or clue how to progress. Whether we come out of embargo, get Britt back, sack another manager or whatever; we're not going suddenly be well run and shoot up the league

Besides, if the owner was making decisions based on a number of vocal fans then he really shouldn't be running a football club. It's been suggested that recruiting a couple of the managers has been influenced by fans. And another one by Fergie

It does all end up back at the door of the owners, unfortunately. Hard to get away from that. Think DF has dug them out of a hole here. He may not be able to take Forest further next season but I can't criticise the effort he has made.

I wouldn't predict the future if I was you, Will predicted Mills would score and he did so not 30 seconds later, then he predicted that Vaughan would score, but instead he got sent off. Very unpredictable, these predictions!

We have possession, are attacking but keep shooting from outside the box instead of taking the ball a further 5 yards forward. O'Grady for such a big guy has a weak shot unfortunately.

From what I've seen on the hilights, I don't know what else D.F is supposed to do, with the mounting injuries and suspensions and a misfiring strike force?

He played to upfront, what more do you expect?

I saw nothing in the Nelsons booking, but I don't think that red will be over turned.
