Karim Matmour

Wagner keen to sign this player, Karim Matmour, free agent and thirty years young. He looks a decent player, winger come striker!

Town seem close to signing him.

If this fella was any good would he be leaving the bundesliga to play for Al-chopyerhandsoff ?

28 goals in a ten year career!....hardly awe inspiring is it?

That good he gets a deal until june??

9m in player sales so far this season and we are stooping this low effectively trialing a player while he,s in the first team

Its not a pop at herr wagner btw...he,s obviously getting the same backing as his predecessors...NONE

Apparently Matmour is proficient on either wing, as an attacking midfielder and can also play up front, so I imagine he's been signed to provide depth.

Wagner has obviously seen him play numerous times so must rate him. As I've said before, it's horses for courses, and he may fit the style DW is trying to play. Leicester also signed an obscure Algerian a while back and nobody had heard of him either. Now Riyad Mahrez is in with a good chance of becoming Footballer of the Year.

Hopefully we have the same luck!

To be successfull though he would have to do something he has not done all his career and that is score goals....look if you average his goals tally out across his ten year career its 3 per season..nowhere near gud enuff

If he's not an out and out forward, which I don't think he is (his positioning on YouTube videos suggests he's either a winger or an inside forward) then his goal return isn't really a concern. Hopefully he's another in the Bunn/Lolley/Scannell mould and will provide some 'get you off your seat' moments.

He's an unknown quantity as as he's only contracted til June then he is low-risk and we should give him a chance. Wagner will certainly have more insight into him than we do and I think we should trust the hairy one on this one.

I do champers

I,m merely highlighting the fact that nothing seems to have changed regard financial backing of the manager...we have been told the butterfield money is there to spend
I was expecting a couple of upcoming lads from the german leagues at around a million apiece, not a free Gamble!

Yes, Matmour seems like he has played most of his career as a winger, so his goal tally probably wouldn't be too crash hot. No harm trying him up front with another striker.

I think, realistically, Town will finish mid table. Mr Hoyle may be saving the brass for the summer transfer window. Mr Wagner will know for sure by then how he will want to shape the squad. The players he wants may be available then.

I would be gobsmacked if Wells is sold this month
