Home V Away

so, no more cup games for another year

we can turn our attentions to the league, and when you look at the fixtures remaining there certainly is a contrast between our home and away games

Home games
Huddersfield
Bristol City
Preston
Sheffield Wednesday
Brentford
Brighton
Blackburn
Wolves

Away games
Leeds
Hull
Burnley
Ipswich
Derby
Reading
Rotherham
Fulham
MK Dons

the home games (on paper) look tantalizingly winnable, while the away games look very daunting.

I can see us getting 30-35 points from those games, which would have put us in the playoff picture in 2 of the last 3 years.

so who knows, there could still be some excitement in this season yet

perhaps I am a touch optimistic with 35 points

It would be nice if Nelson could score a few more.

I don't think we are about to loan a striker any better than what we have at the moment frankly.

That's the make or break issue of the rest of the season. If DF has got one more inspirational loanee I his sleeve, he may yet make something of the season. In all honesty, he has worked some miracles in the transfer market already so it may be too much to hope for one more as that would incredibly lucky.

If we can't get another striker in, I would like to see the fairly ineffectual old guard of Blackstock and O'Grady replaced in the squad by Walker and McDonagh and blood the youngsters.

The season is on a knife edge with regards progress. I hope DF uses the time productively.

Total guess, but a move for conner wickham maybe on the cards after Palace's recent signings.

Freedman has the links with Palace to pull it off, maybe

Three tough consecutive away games there at Hull, Burnley and Ipswich, fortunately bookended by two gimmes... 😄

As you guys have said and as most people realise, A reliable goal scorer is the glaringly obvious missing piece from our season. You only have to look at the league stats to see that only hull and boro, the top two teams, have conceded fewer goals than us but conversely we have scored fewer goals than everyone above us. As you say, our season is on a knife edge, made or broken by tomorrow depending on DF unearthing a gem from somewhere, for free, to bang some goals in.

Fewer goals but we are creating chances, just desperate for someone to find a scoring touch

Igor, frankly is that bloke who keeps barging into your dressing room and destroying your fragile promotion chances!

I watched the derby game friday night, in my humble opinion there biggest problem is Chris Martin.

He is a big part of their success and has a good record at this level, but lacks the quality to lead the front line of a "top two team" so there always prone to falling short in the big games.

Oh well
