If Khan Beats Canelo, Where does he Rank?

If Amir Khan pulls this of, then surely he has to be ranked, as one of the greatest British fighters every.

Jumping up two weights to fight the lineal champion, regarded by many as a top 5 p4p fighter in his prime is a huge task for any fighter.

Already a 3 time champ at light welter, this will make him a 4 time champ in two different weight classes.

He has fought and beat some big names in boxing already.

So where would he rank in your opinion if he wins this bout.

I like Khan and remember him as a proud 17yo winning a silver medal at the olympics giving a great cuban a tough fight and avenging it later on. I don't get the dislike of Khan and think it is largely down to his background.
Of the last 15 years i'd put him alongside Hatton and below Calzaghe, top 5.

nothing to do with his background.....

I don't mind him...bar talking in the third person and his lifting of the skirt chasing fights.

Depends how he follows it up, top 20 for sure.

Recent inactivity doesn't help his cause, but he's right up there in terms of ability.

It'd put him above Hatton & Calzaghe for me.

Second only to Lewis in the modern era.

Can't see it being something we need to consider after the fight but would have him around the 4-7 mark

Khan is close to the top 5. In terms of ability he is top 3. The only reason I'd put him below Hatton is because Hatton fought the two best fighters of his era Floyd and Pacquiao during there peak years.

Yes he fought them, but he was completely outclassed in both. Doesn't hold him in any higher regard for me, Khan wanted those fights also.

Khan was chasing those fights during the latter stages of there careers. I highly doubt Khan would have chased Pacquiao back in his prime years.

Maybe so. I doubt he would've done worse against either, Hatton couldn't lay a glove on them.

“I believe this fight between Canelo and I is getting more attention than a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight," said the Brit.

- Delusional isn't the word. Khan's in cuckoo-land. He's obsessed with Mayweather. But it won't ever happen!
