So how do we react to Pep and Jose going to

Manchester?

Obviously the bigger danger is Pep as he has taken over a fairly talented City team unlike Mourinho who will probably start the summer without a single world class player if De Gea leaves. In the short term even with mourinho at the helm just like Liverpool is still in the dust despite hiring Klopp. We should still be able to compete with united but City will go up a level or 2. How do we stay with them assuming Wenger extends his stay at the Emirates.

I think a few things are obvious even to Wenger, that we cant keep on sacrificing the prospects of the football club due to our British players who have failed to step up.Some like Ox deserve more chances while Wilshere has simply been incredibly unlucky but unreliable at the same time.

I am certain the penny has dropped for Wenger and we could see some of these players lose their places or get sold altogether.

Wenger without being a bad manager is not a top top manager like the likes of Pep and Mourinho so he will need another 2 world class players. Its the only way we can live with City in my opinion.

The positions are obvious, a midfield partner for Coq(Pogba maybe) and a striker. If we can get those sorted out this summer we can compete with City in my opinion.

P.S. Spare a thought for Chelsea fans, this season incredibly gets worse and worse. After defending Mourinho after his sacking to see him beg and get the united job which proves he always wanted to go to united must be chastening. Weird not seeing the likes of TCP wumming about the place.Cant imagine things have ever been this bad since Roman took over.

You can't compete with City now, without Pep.

Nothing confirmed on Jose, just talks.

Aren't you just 5pts ahead of us and we've had lvg under performing all season.

Very naive to think mourinho (with funds) couldn't reverse that. You all know he can.

Yeah when we were at the top of the league before Christmas I couldn't help but think any half decent manager would have had us miles clear at the top of the league...

Wenger won 3 titles in 8 years against SAF in his peak before we moved stadiums, just need to carry on buying top players and improving as we have done last 3 years and we can compete with anyone

It doesn't make a difference to us in truth. We have no ambition to try to win the CL, surely all Arsenal fans can agree on that one. As for the domestic league, as long as Wenger is here he will do it his way. We're up against coaches who are actually under pressure to win league titles so they will purchase whoever their team requires, whilst we have proven we do not.

So with a contract extension for Arsene highly likely, we'll be fighting for 3rd/4th because Pep and Jose teams will probably be aiming for 84+pts

not sure what your point is. We will probably finish ahead of united for the 3rd season in a row and even though our squad isnt the best its better than yours currently. The 5 points difference at this stage means little, even if we were level.

less rebuilding work required with us than your lot and we have a couple of world class players as compared to you.

Im not saying we will always be better than you, because as Leicester have proven it takes more than that. I seem to remember united fans bouncing about the place calling the summer window one of their best and telling us their competitors were chelsea and city.Thats not what the picture looks like now but Im confident we can definitely challenge your lot even with Jose in charge.

Arsenal won't change until Wenger has gone when the board will then appoint coaches who will be expected to challenge for the major trophies or be sacked (just don't have it in them to do so to Wenger).

However, Pep might be in for a reality check when he gets here as he has fed from the top table as far as management opportunities and in very uncompetitive leagues albeit in a more technical environment as far as the emphasis on the type of football being played. For Pep not only will he be expected to win games and trophies, but the panache of free flowing football will be expected as well. Not a forgone conclusion that he is going to make Man City some unstoppable juggernaut.

Arsenal need to do what all the major clubs do every year and invest in quality signings to improve the teams but it can't be just one per summer window if they want to compete with Europe's elite. Ozil, Sanchez and Cech in successive summers is great but not when it is supplemented by a squad that a very mediocre on durability and performing at the highest level.

As you say. Change will ONLY be possible with Wenger's exit from Arsenal. That is the only way this club will be run properly and the manager held to account for any lack of results.
