Morning all,
I get a bit fidgety, when I don't see a thread up, so this is one of my specials apologies if someone was due to do it
Town need points to go with style this weekend as they travel to Nottingham Forest desperate to end their four game losing streak.It's league record against league record this weekend.... but Town will hope only one of them is still alive come 5pm on Saturday.
Forest's much-publicised run of 13 league games unbeaten is the longest run in the division, but Town's own run of finding the net in each of their last 12 league games is also the longest run in the division. Including the FA Cup, David Wagner's men have scored in each of the last 14 games.
Obviously, nothing necessarily has to give this weekend as long as Forest can match the Terriers for goals or even exceed them. But it should give Town confidence - they are capable of scoring against some of the meanest defences in the league.
Nahki Wells has scored seven goals in his last ten games in all competitions, while Forest's main man, Nelson Oliveira, has six goals in his last 10 league starts.
Town's Bermudian frontman has 11 league goals, which is 27.5% of the team's total of 40 Championship strikes, while Oliveira's total of eight goals is just over 25% of Forest's tally of 31.
No Town fan would swap the two, but it's fair to say each is the key conduit of their side's attack. As if I would ever use the word "conduit"
Forest news ;
Reds boss Dougie Freedman has no new concerns, although there has been mixed news this week regarding those who are currently out injured.
Club-record signing Britt Assombalonga could resume training next month, following his serious knee problem, but the striker still has a long way to go before making a first-team return. Midfielder Henri Lansbury (ankle) is making good progress and may also be back training in March.
Andy Reid will not play again this season, however, after undergoing further surgery on his groin in America. The experienced midfielder's contract is due to expire in the summer and a decision will be made on his future in the coming weeks. No timescale has been put on when Daniel Pinillos (knee) or Matty Fryatt (Achilles) might be fit.
Town news ;
Huddersfield club captain Mark Hudson is back in contention after serving a two-game ban for reaching 10 yellow cards.
On-loan forward Jamie Paterson misses out against his parent club while winger Sean Scannell (knee) and on-loan midfielder Emyr Huws (ankle) both remain sidelined.
Recent loan signing Elvis Manu has been struggling with illness this week after stepping off the bench in last week's defeat at Preston and is doubtful, while midfielder Karim Matmour is hoping to shake off a knock.
Midfielders Dean Whitehead and Kyle Dempsey, plus left-back Jason Davidson are among those pushing for recalls.
My prediction ;
We've been playing well recently, and not getting the rub of the green. I think we'll win 1-2
Records are there to be broken.
